how does an endormorpic former fat boy eat 4000 calories and 400g of carbs and wakeup bigger and leaner than a week ago on a keto diet.

this my friends is a riddle that will never be solved…

kiefer you mad scientist you…youre a genius.
It’s crazy how one’s body can adapt through time. I used to weigh in the 190-200 lb range in high school and early college. Now I compete at 135 lbs and follow a very similar protocol to CBL (250-500 g per day depending on the activity level). I don’t care how many skeptics there are out there, I’ve tried several diets in the past 5 years and the concepts of CBL work great for me.
Can you give a diet/training summary of what you do? I’m curious how much you train and when you CBL since you train to fight.

You guys see the seminar Kief is hosting in Boston…You can get a ticket for only $800. Holy shit.

I’ll PM you. Don’t wanna hijack this thread. BTW, thank you Siouxfan, your thread is one of the many that help me get ideas for tweaking my diet

Not a problem Ive encountered actually. I do take betaine HCL with most of my meals though. But even when having big carb ups without it I still never had much issue.

It’ll be available for podcast or something like that. I play to listen/watch to it all once it becomes available.

the body can be a fickle bitch at times, but it can also be the greatest adapting mechanism on the planet lol. eating this many carbs and not getting obese.

by the way, backloaded twice already on non-workout days. much cleaner though, only some rice and pizza. wokeup, no fat gain, a bit less water retention. a-fucking-mazing.

Just found this thread. My 2 cents:

CBL is fucking awesome. I don’t care about physique. I am looking at it from a purely performance based aspect. I just recently switched some things around to cut some weight for a meet. Went from 285 to 265 in a month and am significantly stronger on all of my indicator lifts. I am on track for a 2100+ single ply total and a new American deadlift record. I attribute most of these improvements to not eating/training like a big pussy anymore.

This sounds awesome, Storm!
I hope you nail that record!

Would you take a few moments to elaborate? Maybe describe your day/schedule of eating and activity under this CBL regimen?

Thanks!

Agree with ID. Would love to hear more. Certainly seems to be gathering a following in the PL world as a performance orientated diet as well.

It involves orange soda i believe

Hey Guys

Apologies if it’s been addressed here already, but how does training earlier in the day (like around noon) fit into CBL? Are all the rules still the same?

EDIT: Nevermind answering. I realize that GLUT4 would not be optimized at a time earlier than prescribed.

have a post workout shake with carbs in it. then dont eat carbs until 6pm. commence all holy grail named backloading.

EDIT: thats if youre training fasted in the morning. if you train after noon he says to not include any post workout carbs and start backloading at 6pm.

You are correct that it would not be optimized but it can be done. Kiefer also recommends caffiene to help simulate the insulin resistant state of evening for people who train early in the day.
