Ok thanks. Yeah I just can’t understand taking in 120g protein and not taking in much protein the other parts of the day. Yeah I was thinking about getting CarbShock, do you think it’s worth it? It’s pretty spendy.
I am definitely going to purchase Carb Back Loading 2.0 though seeing as how he has changed a lot of his views. [/quote]
I’m a sucker for new products, especially for CS because I love Kiefer’s protocols and he designed it to fit perfectly. I have tried many products and really really enjoy CS, especially for when I cannot lift between 3-5PM. Really helps with recovery due to the huge, but rapid, insulin spike and is perfect for those morning to mid-afternoon workouts.
IMO very worth it, especially if you go for the 6-bottle package which I believe he may offer to a small group of subscribers. MAG-10 and Biotest leucine are also good choices if you can’t get your hand on CS, I also use Biotest creatine and have some leftover Surge which helps replenish carbs and electrolytes when I lift late and dont have the time or stomach to eat a ton of food before bed.
It seems as there are quite a knowledgeable amount of people in regards to this subject. I have topic that has not been answered yet, that is related to the subject matter being discussed in this thread. I am running carb back loading with intermittent fasting. I have heard good reviews, about running the protocols together. I have shared the link to my question below:
http://tnation.T-Nation.com/hub/jzy50309#myForums/thread/6192429/
If too lazy to click on the link, it basically ask if having a shake consisting of 30g of whey and brown sugar (insulin spike) should be implemented only right after lifting(postWO) or could it be used while lifting (PeriWO)?
I only eat two solid meals a day, how long should I wait to eat my carbs after having my shake? I consume no carbs until after working out, as the protocol recommends. Only chicken breast, salad, and olive oil. I have heard different opinions that our insulin sensitivity window stays open for only up to an hour, or is it longer? Should I drink my shake immediately postWO and then eat my carb-heavy meal? Or should I split the two(within what time frame)? I feel as I may be splitting hairs at this point, if that is the case please inform me. I have no problem shoveling food down my throat after lifting, and drinking my shake. I have shared my eating schedule in my thread, if one would like to suggest any advice in regards to the matter.
if any one has a copy of the pdf/ebook available could they send it to me? would be greatly appreciated
I thoroughly understand the literature that Keifer used to explain why CBL works. What I find difficult is the chart provided to start your macros or to even know what your totally daily macros should be. If anyone would care to explain the initial start of how to determine your macros; I’m all ears. ie…If my goal is to weigh 170lbs the chart shows 32g/F, 173g/C, & 130g/P then reads to ingest 89g/P with post shake.
This is not enough calories to be named Carb Back Loading. Where does the dirty carbs fill in & at what macros? I’m being a little sarcastic but it like stating let me tell you how to make a cake: Flour, sugar, butter, vanilla, eggs & icing. If you figure out the right amount of each you can make a awesome cake! So feel free to enlighten me…Please!

What do you expect? You are eating only 1500 calories.
I skimmed through the book, I’m no native english speaker/reader so a few things confused me.
Monday: workout and backload
Tuesday: restday, all day low carb no backload
Wednesday: workout and backload
Thursday: restday, all day low carb no backload
Friday: workout and backload
Saterday: restday, all day low carb no backload
Sunday: restday, all day low carb no backload
I would like to eat some carbs before bedtime on Thursday and Sunday, the consecutive workouts are usually the most demanding (squats and deads), would that be a bad idea? I workout in the evening from 20.00 till 22.00.
