Car You Drive = Manliness?

Not caring about what others view as manly = manliness…

5th Gen Honda Prelude SH

210HP Vtech “ATTS” system, 4 cyl (18mpg when I had it).

Looks amazing in black or white.

Audi TT’s are also fun; same HP as the Prelude

If you are getting a 5th gen lude, I would recommend avoiding the SH. 200 extra pounds that don’t do much other than break and cost you money.

Also the automatic and “typtronic” transmissions suck horribly. Go for the stick.

I get as much as 32mpg out of my 5th gen on the highway with 150k on it.

Landrover – best bang for the buck – you can get an incredible ride for 10,000.oo

For those that dis the miata, you probably don’t know much about it. It’s a nice reliable, quick, good handling car.

Their engines will outlast supperman. There are guys racing them with 200k miles and have never cracked open the engine.

Iron block, iron heads, built for abuse. They take boost amazingly well, and lets not forget they are front engine rear drive, the way God intended (unlike the sissy front drivers being discussed).

They newer ones are pretty spacious too.

I’m quite jelous of all you yanks by the way, I love muscle cars but to get one over here would cost quite a bit and fuel over here’s alot more than you pay as well so erm…shite

best car I ever owned was an '85 Monte Carlo - 305 V-8 w/ Holley quadra-jet carb - swapped out transmission - high flow exhaust.
yeah… I stayed in trouble with that car.

gas prices jumped and the 11mpg highway was too expensive.

If I could afford a toy car it would be a Nissan 240SX. lots of potential, and not too common.

ford ka, mini… well mini anything really, nissan micra, VW beetle, pug 206, mazda mx-5, bmw z-3… there are a few and I go by the look/style of it really

oh and for the OP dont buy anything french, you’re asking for trouble if you do (citroen in particular)

HAH! I had an 85 grand prix. Same car, different badge. 305, 4-barel quadra-jet. Other than mine had a crappy metric 200 tranny. I always wished it had a 350 though.

You might be able to score a rough 03 350Z for around 10K, but I doubt it.

Another car to consider that hasn’t been mentioned is the SRT4 (fast, reliable, and cheap). If you go with the SRT4 look for an 04 or 05, they have the Quaife LSD and the bigger injectors…find one that was adult driven and not modded if you want reliability.

go here and drool. you can find 65 mustang(10000), 64 malibu ss(10200), 66 nova(6800), 37 plymouth coupe street rod(10000). you can find your manliness here.

Ahhhhh…you forgot the '67 Goat.[/quote]

I don’t think he could afford it but they might have one for sale on this site. they once had the first stage III fury ever built for sale(@74000).
how about a 69 camaro ragtop under 10000?

x100
If you are worried about what shows manliness, and it is still not yet decided and the deal breaker is the car, um, therapy is a better investment.
Trucks with no intention of filling up the bed with anything, a motorcycle based on noise instead of performance, jeep or other off road vehicle used for the road only…confidence lack.

Is Scion TC a chick car?

I have heard people refer to the TC as a chick car…it is borderline.

If it has a vagina.

…and we DON’T want one?

There is a reason plans, ships, and cars always get female names.
