Car You Drive = Manliness?

So, since we’re on the topic of cars and manliness I was just wondering if the (new to me) douche bag fad of big brass balls on the back of pickups (it apparently shows people that the driver has balls) caught on anyhere else?
I saw a Suzuki Samurai with those a couple of weeks ago. They weren’t even centered on the back of the vehicle. I nearly rearended another car laughing too much.

I drive a very girly car… 95 mitsu mirage TEAL. In college having a car is good enough for me.

the best part about driving this car (besides the gas milage.) is the one time some road rager got out of his car and starting approaching my car yelling. The dude did not expect in a million years for a 250lbs dude with a shaved head and a goatie to come out of that car… he appologized and drove way.

Yeah, I actually didn’t believe the girl I was with when she explained what they were to me as I was clueless when I first saw them.

Hahaha! That’s great.

Its not how much money you’ve spent, its how much money you have…

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. An Infiniti seems like a safe bet. I might be able to find a G35 sedan around that price. What do yall think about a BMW 3-series? They’re pretty popular so they can’t be too bad with reliability I’m assuming. I’m not so sure about insurance. A convertible isn’t too hard to come by, either.
Audi or BMW can’t go wrong…But you were concerned about price of maintenance on Jap cars? Whoooooo you’ll be in for a treat when you see what it is on a German car.

Get a motorcycle.

Well if you’re marrying me for my toys, what toys do you have to offer?

I drive a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird right now, paid 1500 bucks for it three years ago and expected just to get the year out of it. Spent probably a thousand dollars on it since; the brake lines had to be replaced and i bought some tires and a few small parts but other than that for a car of it’s age it has been absolutely flawless.

I just recently painted and done some body work on it and I’m expecting to get at least another year out of the car… sometimes you can find reliability for cheap, I guess I was a lucky one. I even painted it myself, lol. Its a pretty quick little car too, it has the 3.1L V6, not bad for its time i suppose.

What on earth is a chick car and what is the criterion used for making this designation?

negative on the audi, if you want to check it out, consumer reports rates them terribly on reliability.

Right on. Any car and a decent bike. Chicks love motorcycles get used to giving rides though.

Honda Civic.

You cannot go wrong on reliability with a civic.

(for those that asked)

-personally, i’d consider any car that is specifically purchased for your purpose is a Manly car choice…

if you’re broke and you need something cheap and reliable, go with something cheap and reliable, if you need to haul shit then get a truck, if you want to go fast, get a car that’ll do that

to me a pussy choice is to get something for the soul purpose of impressing friends or even worse, strangers, a “showboat” if you will

-if you love cars than get a car that really drives, if you dont love cars, get one that’ll get you there as efficiently as possible and leave it at that, -way i see it

Built for comfort.

Or, Anj, feel free to switch the two, if you’d like.

No I just live at home. :frowning:

Datsun 240z, preferably a 1972… if you find a really nice one itll be around 8 grand and it accomplishes all the goals easily with an emphasis on speed and old school manliness.
