Is there a way to pick stats to upgrade, or specials, or weapons or something? Everybody has different stuff and all I have is a gay little knife. Some people have those annoying ass pets.

This game is really just a glorified dice-rolling game. You can stack the probability a little by carefully selecting your opponents (more trouble than it’s worth IMO), but really it’s chance.
The fighters sometimes do incredibly stupid things like throw away an effective weapon, not use a weapon at all, or sometimes just stand there.
