Can You Lift It? Yes I Can!

Friday workout:
Pause squats: 6 @ 140,150kg
Goblet squats 2x30 @ 45lbs (20ish kg)
NG pull-ups: 3x8 @ BW

Notes:
Everythings still a bit tight.
Tweaked my right trap while squatting seems fine now though.
Music was about as far off base for a workout as possible today (fucking house music)

Are you telling me you don’t get down to a bit of old school house or drum and bass?

Haha not when I lift, sunny day and some BBQ beers maybe.
I need all the hype I can get now days, I tried to bring my own hype once and just ended up saying “come on, one more rep you fat cunt” out loud

Lmao, this is me in the shed on my own. I keep calling myself names that usually include the words old fat and lazy !!

Haha, I do the same in my garage, my neighbour 2 houses down has commented on the clunking of the weights, odd grunting and yelling! Plus when no-ones home he can hear Metallica cranked too.

How the fuck you can lift with house music playing? I would be pissed!

I have music but it’s just whatever is on the radio. Triple M so it’s old school rock and new stuff. Maybe I should start cranking it up, I could be missing kgs

Haha, I have a laptop hooked to our old Plasma and my old home theatre system, sounds great, usually have concerts cranked. Good motivation.

I used to take down a headphones when I was a member of the small 24hr box gym but they just ended getting in the way.
I’d like to invest in a garage gym but Im not sure I’d be able to ignore Netflix then. Lol

Haha yeah I’ve also taken to shaking the bar while it’s racked and doing a mini stomp.
Fuck I bring the hype lol

Can confirm i do this to. My favourite motto would have to be “pain is for the weak.”

haha so funny, we’re all in the same boat. The first times my wife would appear asking “are you all right”.

And the shake the bar, combined with some headbanging.

The other week I listened to some folk music, when I warmed up and forgot to change playlist, at the end of the workout I thought WTF are you listening to… haha did have a less than stellar lifting session.
AC/DC is my go to lifting music. And Volbeat but mostly because they’re Danish.

I believe loud music has a great psychological influence. I love Saturday mornings when the Mrs goes out, I swear the whole street must hear it, usually Metallica, Disturbed, Korn, Shadows Fall and Killswitch Engage is my ‘go to’ squat music.
My daughter however is usually still in bed, she freaking hates it, haha

I’m starting to think we all listen to similar music When lifting

I don’t mind what music is or isn’t playing.

As said I listened to folk music one day, and the music in the work gym is sometimes weird, so I can let it go and lift too.

The frozen soundtrack would be a stretch though

I’ll admit Painkiller and earlier Pantera go very nicely. So does Destiny’s Child.

Yeah but I don’t actually enjoy lifting, I just like the after effects so good music helps lol But yeah it’s not The end of the world if Justin Bieber starts playing

I’m not really fussy but for the boxing today my son got to chose. He wanted Guns n Roses - welcome to the jungle. So we just let GnR play for the whole time. Turned it into a great little session.

Wednesday workout: weight: 88.1kg
Log press: 5x8 @ 62.5kg
NG pull-ups: 3x8 @ BW

Accessory:
Face pulls and leg extensions.

Notes:
Pressing moved fine.
So far I’ve been strict pressing the log and I think I’ll be good for 5x10 at the current weight and maybe 5x5 after the next jump but might struggle after that.
