Go for a nap PR!
Nope.
Lift light to moderate shit a fuckload of times, until you feel like shit. Back off for a bit. Repeat.
I still feel like anything over 2 plates is heavy, I’ve just gotten used to it sitting on my back ![]()
But I get what you’re saying
That is a PR that I would be excited about!
Honestly, I think if you want to make any kind of progress some kind of structure is pretty much essential.
Even if it’s super basic, like four to six weeks on, one deload and in that period focusing on working from low to high end of rep range at a set weight for a set of main lifts assisted by bodybuilding work.
Nice looks like my cupboard, lol. Where in Oz are you mate?
Yeah I think I might be too far past just lifting and hoping things will improve lol
Currently I’m just focusing on squatting Sunday’s (something challenging whether it’s 10x6 or a heavy triples), pressing Tuesday’s and then more accessory stuff Thursday.
I’ll do a little reading and see if I can find something that fits with that
Canberra (or NSW, I mean we’re surrounded by the state, even get the Sydney news)
Training Maximally from Beyond might work really well. Check it out. You’d have to tweak it a bit but as a basic structure I think it might do you well.
What’s in the water up there, you and Mark killing it !
I’ll check it out, thanks.
I just hooked WPC up to the tap
Is that what it is? Go figure. Thanks @painter27
Quality, good work boys
Sunday workout:
Due to lack of enthusiasm about things i took a week (+a couple of days) off from anything gym related.
Squats: 9 @ 160kg
Goodmornings: 2x10 @ 80kg
Accessory:
Push up/ pull up ss
5x10/5 @ BW
Leg extension, cable curls, face pull and lateral raise superset.
Notes:
So I took a week or so off to workout what exactly is stressing me so much and I think I’ve narrowed it down to a couple of bigger life events in the last 6 months.
- House
- Engagement
- Dog
- New cars
Need to work on resilience or just being an adult, might go and speak to someone agian.
Sleep hasn’t been great but felt solid under the bar everything moved well, Haven’t lost all my gains lol
Maybe you could try mixing up the gym routine to try and get the bug back?
Or take up boxing so I can catch up ![]()
All of the life changes are stressful, for pretty much everyone! What in particular about them are causing anxiety/stress? Figure that out and you can work through it!
I personally think it’s a good thing to take time off when you feel you need it. Sometimes having too much on your plate makes things worse. Just don’t forget to try to take care of yourself!
I tried MMA for a while… I sucked so hard lol
I think I just feel overwhelmed, like I’m not ready to be an adult lol
None of us are, it just bloody happens.
Great decision Painter ![]()
When it’s sorted out, you can get back to lifting and lifting great.
Another thing while you have all these stressors in your life is food, are you smashing easy to grab and nasty stuff or still eating well? What amount are you eating?
I find when I let my guard down and eat crap,I feel crap too.
