Calories and Eating to Gain 10 Pounds

Hey guys, I am looking to gain a solid 10 lbs, right now I weigh about 142 lbs, I will be training 5 days a week(weights and traditional exercises mons, weds, fridays and cardio on tues, thurs, maybe on sats as well). I recently looked into a weight gainer protein, here are the nutritional facts:

Total Calories 1250
Calories From Fat 40
Total Fat 4.5g
Saturated Fat 1.5g
Cholesterol 80mg
Sodium 410mg
Potassium 1560mg
Total Carbohydrates 252g
Dietary Fiber 4g
Sugars 20g
Protein 50g

It also consists of a bunch of vitamins and minerals, 1g of creatine, L-Glutamine, Glutamine Peptides, Choline, Inositol and PABA(para-aminobenzoic acid).

The problem is that due to my daily busy schedule I can only consume about 3-4 meals a day, this is why I am looking into the weight gainer. my question is, how many of these shakes should I consume a day? I was thinking about 2 (mixed with 2% or skim milk), which will make 3000+ calories alone on just the shakes, I need over 3000 calories a day period. Sorry for typing so much, I just needed to lay out my whole plan.

DONT TAKE A WEIGHT GAINER. Its crap and will fatten you right up. Take protein shakes mixed with peanut butter, oatmeal, cottage cheese and milk if you need quick meals.

I agree, search ‘weight gainers’ on this website and you’ll definitely change your mind about these products.

Thanks guys, you saved me a whole lot of probs and money. I was looking into the Metabolic Drive Complete, is it any good? I was using optimum nutrition 100% whey a while back, but seems like its not enough.

Metabolic Drive Complete has become one of my favorite products with how busy I’ve been lately.

Both flavors taste good and you can add Superfood to the vanilla to make a berry-flavored shake.

It taste awesome, do a search for meal replacement shake ideas

My quick MRP recipe
1 scoop vanilla casein
1 scoop chocolate whey
5tbsp flax meal
1/2 c oatmeal, pre-cooked
1 1/2c milk
1 tsp cocoa powder

I throw it in a shaker cup and its deelicious

How about this one:

Healthy Pancakes!
1/2 cup real oatmeal
1/4 cup cottage cheese
2 eggs
dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to taste.

Blend everything in a blender until it’s silky smooth. Let it sit for a min and cook just like pancakes and tastes great too! I love having these when I get sick of oatmeal and omelette’s every day.

The oatmeal precooked?

252g of carbs? holy sheite

1 cup oats
2 cups whole milk
2 scoops protein
1 cup frozen blueberries
4 tbsp’s peanut butter
1 serving ground flax seed
1 large banana

about 1400 calories and tastes damn good  adjust amounts to meet how many calories you need, or make it into two servings.

hmm, this all seems pretty interesting. I might have to start making one of my own…

1 Cup of milk (Type: Your Choice)
1 FROZEN banana, the freezing makes the difference
2 Scoops Chocolate Protein Powder
1 Cup of Vanilla yogurt (again, your choice)
4 Tablespoons of natty pb.
1 tablespoon ground flax
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
Blend it all up, and its freakin awesome. Its a massive shake though, so watch out.

Oatmeal
Canned Pumkin
Cinnamon
pumpkin pie spice
Vanilla or chocolate Metabolic Drive
Splenda
Milk

Adjust quantities for calories.
This will change your life

Kalle your’s sounds awesome. I love peanut butter.

No. When you blend the oatmeal it basically turns it into flour.

Can’t wait to try this one tomorrow! I keep forgetting that I can use splenda in stuff. I’ve gotten so far away from using sugar in anything nowadays that I just forget about it most times…
