If you’re bulking should you be taking in a surplus of calories on days when you aren’t lifting, or should that be reserved for training days?
i just go with the fact that if i want to recover faster and repair/build muscle im gonna need alot of fuel on my off day. But i know nothing.
I believe that a person is recovering and repairing just as much on an off-day if they just lifted.
I see no reason to lower the calories unless you’re doing a very lean gain diet.
Depends on 2 things:
1- Are you getting enough nutrients on training days to support energy needs, current LBM AND have enough surplus to build additional muscle?
2- If you answered ‘Yes’ to question #1, AND are already getting enough nutrients on your off days to support energy needs (which are much lower than on training days), current LBM, AND have enough surplus to build additional muscle… how soft are you willing to get and be able to justify that you really needed it?

something that really interests me was the mantrition thread.
I’ll probably be cutting for another 4-6 months or so. but the mantrition thread idea was that you figure out how many calories you need weekly. Then on your off days only have one big meal at the end of the day but make up your caloric surplus on your workout days. I don’t know how this would work for a hard gainer but IMO this sounds pretty solid for a guy like me that doesn’t have a whole lot of trouble putting on weight.
