Phil (and others) lots of cool stuff on this thread. Checked out your site and really liked alot of your paitings.
Favorites were: Pacifier, Turtle (cool and abstract) Varitas (reminded me a bit of Dali–it wasn’t surreal but the little head hanging off the necklace for some reason reminded me of him…)
Shattered Bottle–the shards of glass were real realistic. Favorites were Rob’s Shoes and Caution Tape. Both reminded me of the way Ayn Rand described her husband’s art—took an ordinary item and somehow made it seem powerful. Definitely an intensity to the images–not an art critic, can’t describe why but would definitely look at these at an art museum. Only 2 I wasn’t too wild about were Bunny (looked like a Korn album) an Night Scene–which I think is one of your only outsdide scenes–everything else seems to be a closeup of an item(s) or person. Didn’t have the intensity of the other pictures–I usually like Hooper (think that’s his name) for this type of art. Looks like you’re silently observing someone. Overall awesome job. Disclaimer–my favorite artists are Dali and #1 Rockwell. Also like the painting of the lady on the hill of grass looking up at the red barn. I would like to be there. Not sure who painted it.

Hey thanks a LOT for the knid words and the critique. They really help honest opinions etc.
the one you dont like well thats the only ever land/city scape ive ever done and well cant say ill do any more very soon not my thing but had to try it. Like all my work I was very pleased with it for oh about ten minutes then they all become learning tools steps I start tearing them apart searching for the faults and finding where I can improve
Thanks for sharing your work I oh so wish I was musically inclined ive tried everything form piano lessons, guitar, even a friggin violin LOL just cant. You very talented keep it up

well i came to this thread a bit late, but anyway this is the only thing i have here to post. I did it on AutoCAD so i’ve had to make a PDF of it which really doesn’t do it justic. The girl on the left and right are standard blocks that i’ve extencivly altered (ie undressed) but the girl in the middle is 100% my work.
The PDF i put up looks SO poor on here, i can’t get the background to look black! here is another atempt to show the main image again, should be the right way around this time (still can’t get a black background thou)
OKay, been comissioned to create a few images, logo, t-shirts etc for a sports performance center that my brother (The DPT) is affiliated with. Anyway, I did a ton of little poses and figures, and while they’re just ideas, I really liked this one. Yes, it’s real messy, but I try never to put any real ‘work’ into a project until I have full approval for a concept, or 1/2 the money up front -lol

Thats Nice Stu I like the rawness of the under drawing. Id actually like to see it prior to the pen work see the line variance better etc from an artistic point of view. I know it needs to be CRISP for commercial application but you can still really get a feel of the place of weight bearing from the knees down where its still the pencil or what not you used.
Again great work
I aint got a damn thing new to much time being spent on getting my show ready I have one going just no time to get it done. I start set up sunday
Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing

Love the contrast and choice of where to use color.
digital or dark room??
Phil[/quote]
digital…
I looked into it and not many labs around that process film anymore, and being a former printer, I’m way too par-friggin-ticular on how my prints should be printed.
Do miss that awesome smell of fixer though…but I’ll settle for the toxic fumes of greenware firing.
thanks. I like mostly b/w with a little bit of color, in all the right places. I have some other ideas I’ll be working on too.
So stay tuned
Good luck putting your show together. phil. Hope you get a great turnout.
You are one talented SOB. I love your work, man. Thank you for sharing. Once I start torch working I think I will video myself creating things and throw them up on my profile.
The other stuff is amazing as well, guys. Very cool.
