I’m getting calf cramps in the morning when I wake and this has happened before when I diet.
Any suggestions on what I can do to alleviate this? I’m working out 2-3 days on 1 off. Weight training and conditioning. I’m eating a Poliquin style diet. Greens, proteins, good fats. I’ve heard supplementing with potassium may help. Any dosages or any other suggestions would be appreciated?
Only supp I’m using besides oils and proteins are surge or glutacene/gatorade and hot rox.
Are you drinking enough water?
low carb dieting is very diuretic which can cause mineral depletion.
Supplementing with one potassium tab (90 mg) might be sufficient. I take mine twice a day and no cramps.
Iron Maiden has the answer. I’ve had that problem in the past and potassium at about that dosage really helped. Another sign for me was desperate cravings for spicy foods. I thought I was going nuts until I talked to a few people who had had the same experience. Some additional potassium helped with that, too.
Calcium too.
I used to get them around 3AM till I upped my calcium supplementation.
I second the water recommendation

Thanks a lot guys.
I’ll try K, Ca and Water.
Increase water and salt intake.
