Yea, the eggs I buy at the store are cage-free vegetarian eggs… I was wondering how that works. I didn’t buy it because it was vegetarian, just relatively cheap and the yolk is a nice yellow-orange. Cost about 2.30 a dozen compared to the organic ~$4 a dozen. Will be buying eggs from a local farmer soon, just wondering how they can monitor what the chickens eat if they are truly vegetarian.
Chickens dont eat meat bro they are vegetarian. There have been articles and documentaries on the so called cage free thing they only have to let the chickens out so long to be classified cage free. In short there just eggs IMO if going for something better get the omega 3 eggs where they feed the chickens a diet that boost the omega three content

I know chickens don’t really eat meat, but don’t insects count? And the omega three content was pretty insig it looked on the “omega 3 eggs” label, 225mg an egg. :-S

Sure insects count but Live stock well sure there stupid but they are smart enough to not work for food if they know they are going to get a free meal from Mr.Farmer so they wont be as busy as say a wild turkey eating bugs to simply survive.
Are you seriously worried abotyu a chicken eating bugs LOL hell if anything you should want them to thats a natural food choice for the critters.
