Buying a Watch

What’s “dressing the part?” I’m a relatively young guy, and wear my five figure watches with shorts and a t-shirt on the weekend. I don’t need to dress up to wear a nice watch so that other people can be impressed. Assumptions are dangerous…
I’m referring more to young guys who are obviously leveraged to the hilt in order to “afford” some bling - be it a high-end watch, luxury car…or whatever…items acquired to convey an image of success when they clearly are not successful. It looks ridiculous.

K Mart or equivalent low end clothing lines. At least look like you can afford the nicer things in life.

BTW kudos to you if you can afford watches like that. But I call BS unless you post up some pics of said watches w/ make and model and something unique to I.D. that it is legit. lol
Thanks for the kudos. Today I’m wearing my Panerai Radiomir model 232. The 232 was released by Panerai in 2006 in a limited edition of 1938 units. Here’s some additional info: http://www.watchuwant.com/watches/panerai-pam-232-i-radiomir-1938-47mm-stainless-steel-special-limited-edition-only-1938-pie-1?src=fr.

OP: good luck with your search!

Dude, that’s the worst photoshop I’ve ever seen. Anyone can write on a yellow post it and cut/paste in onto someone else’s wrist pic.

I stand corrected on:

Wedding ring
Championship ring
Membership ring
Crucifix
Bracelet

Not jewelry but accessories:

Cuff Links
Tie clip

No go:

Pinkie Ring

This

I’m not a fan of these watches that have faces the size of clocks.

I got this watch last summer. It’s a Bulova. Wasn’t super expensive, tells great time, and I get a ton of complements on it.

^^Nice.

“Wasn’t super expensive, tells great time and I get a ton of complements on it.”

LOL!! As opposed to just telling mediocre time.

Heres one that I recieved as a gift, like it so far. Definately a different look compared to many shown in this thread. Its a Sturhling.

Yeah, looking back at my post, I’m not sure what that even means. I mean really, is any watch going to tell “shit time” these days?

I bought it 'cause it’s shiny and the bitches seem to like it. How’s that?

Surprised nobody mentioned it yet, just get a clock like flavor flav

Yeah! Flavor Flav…he’s be likely to wear a big watch like that!

Wait…he was one of the Muppets right?

I have a different model by them, it looks like a pocketwatch converted to a wrist watch. Its a big GD watch, but I am a big GD guy, so I can make it work. It fits my classic with a slice of funk style.

I knew a guy who walked around in walmart shorts and polos wearing a 5 figure watch that I was pretty sure was fake. Even if it wasn’t he looked pretty rediculous becuase it was clearly a “look at the shit I can afford” watch and reminded everyone that money does not equal class.

Sorry mate, I thought you wanted to see some pictures. Today I’m wearing my Vacheron Constantin Overseas model. Vacheron Constantin is the oldest Swiss watch manufacturer in existence. Founded in 1755, Vacheron Constantin has made watches for, among others, Napoleon Bonaparte. You can learn more about the Overseas model here: http://www.thefinestwatches.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/catalog.viewProduct/productId/8543. Satisfied yet? LOL!

A buddy has a Ulysse Nardin Blue Max watch.

Fucking awesome looking and not the same watch everyone has.

I have three G Shocks. Those are cool.
