I bought a TW Steel few months back and i love it. The on in the link. 45mm face not the 50mm, that is huge.

I had one of those too. It was great until the band got snagged on a branch and it went through a chipper.
Funny that this thread cam up. Me and another guy at work have been discussing watches for about a week. Even if I got a nice one as an accessory, at this point it would still be pretty damn cheap compared to what is being discussed in this thread.
I’z chronographically challenged.
Took several pics, but for some reason they all came out with the watch looking kinda cheap (and stealing my tan). The watch is actually pretty nice, and gets compliments whenever I wear it. It’s called the “player”, not “playa”, and it came in a couple of colors. A buddy of mine runs the surfing department at a local skate shop/record store and I got a killer deal on it. Ordinarily it ran about 3-hundo.

Forgot to load a pic, but I’ll do it later. Wanted to add that Movado makes some smooth looking pieces, but they’re a little higher in price. If you scour local pawn shops you might find crazy deals on really nice watches.
I liked the way their men’s watches looked too but I think the ones I liked were like $1,200. I think they might have a few that are a bit cheaper but didn’t suit my tastes. The women’s Movado’s I bought were both around $250-$350 so not too bad. They were $500 at the Movado store at the Outlets.
OP, if you do search for Movado on Amazon there are a couple around $600. Just make sure it says:
“Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.”
under the description. Very important. Otherwise it could be any jerkoff with a store on Amazon selling watches.
Yeah, they’re Sharp as all get out but way outta my price range. My oldest brother has one that ran close to 2 G’s. Can’t justify spending that kind of money on a watch, but it does look SMOOTH.
If you arent willing to spend big bucks on a really nice watch, you will be hard pressed to find anyone who is a “real” watch enthusiast that will tell you its worth buying a watch under a grand or two. However, for a watch that is durable, looks much more expensive than it is, and are very stylish, GUESS really does make some awesome watches in the 200-500 dollar range. Regardless what you think of their clothes and the company itself, it would be my first choice in that price range.
Alright so Im hearing to look at only watch brands. No clothing companies that sell watches lol. So I was looking at TAG’s and old Rolex’s but still theyre pretty dang expensive and none have a black young look which is what I am looking for.
I found a Burberry… I know, I know but check it out. http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/burberry-mens-stainless-steel-watch/3064113?origin=category&fashionColor=&resultback=4260
Also, a Movado, http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/movado-series-800-mens-stainless-steel-watch/3143163?origin=category&fashionColor=&resultback=8682
Opinions? Keep looking for TAGs?
Something I thought of when people say “I don’t need a watch…there’s a clock on my cell phone! Duh!” Is that that seems like something very old-fashioned…reaching into your pocket and pulling out the device (perhaps even needing to flip it open or slide it so it unlocks) just to find out the time feels so 1895.
Dude did you check TW Steel like i said?
They do them with yellow/blue or red hands etc i have the red. Its heavy and i can pretty much wear it with everything, they also do one that is all black. Black numbers hands etc looks fucking awesome but i couldn’t find it here.
I’d keep away from Burberry. Essentially fashion watches. Standard movements just in a fancy case. You’re guna start having problems after a few years.
A friend of mine has a Hublot… check them out lol $30,000 a pop. awesome watch though.
Maurice Lacroix make some really nice watches as well.
Maybe a used Breitling or IWC watch. Might Have to stretch your budget a little, but is it better to buy 1 watch
for $1000 that will last 20 years or 10 $300 watches that will last 2/3 years each? i know what i’d do.

Just got a laugh about imagining a Navy SEAL team trying to synchronize thier cells in the dark in 10 foot swells off the coast of some far away land…
Well you know the old joke for whenever anyone asks what time it is…“It’s time for you to get a watch!”
Hamilton, Stowa, Omega, Tissot.
You can find a nice vintage piece for alot less than new. I have a 1963 Omega Seamaster, 400 bills.

Just get what you like. If you like Nixon, get a Nixon. You’re not going to do yourself any favors if you wind up with a TAG but really just wanted a $150 Emporio Armani watch all along.
A $150 watch is essentially disposable. You can wear it for 3 - 4 years until it goes out of style, then give it away and move on to something more fashionable.

Whats wrong with 1895?
You prejudice on olden times or something.

I still don’t know what that means but it was the standard response when I was a kid.

“Wanna buy a watch? I know you don’t got a watch, cause if you did you’d know it was nighttime, and nighttime ain’t no time to be in this here neighborhood.”
Another one…
If you want to check if a Swiss watch is not fake, just drop it on the floor at the store. If it’s real, the shop assistant should die from a heart attack.
