Here is a picture of the Sig Sauer P220 Equinox i own…couldnt take a pic of it myself, its off their site, but its obviously the exact same gun…i absolutely love it…i have it in a .45 and its a solid firearm, i would put my life behind it in any situation with complete confidence…its got Tritium nitesites front/rear, DA/SA, and i got a laser/light combo attached to the rails…[/quote]
You lucky SOB, I’ve had my eye on that gun for years and just can’t bring myself to buy it. I’ve played with them at gun stores and they feel is amazing, they fit my hands perfectly. The biggest problem I have is as a carry weapon it’s really thick/bulky which makes the purcase that much harder since I want to be able carry every gun I own. Do you carry it and if so how?

If you buy one, go used. The quality control on Sigs has slipped since the CEO from Kimber took over a few years ago. For that money you’re better off with an HK.
And to be honest I have a thing for the .22 widow maker. Must get one soon with the pocket clip holster attachment. yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh nice. I need to get my fat azz to the range soon.

Did not know that, thanks. HK’s are nice weapons from what I can tell, never really messed with them, like Sigs and Kimbers more than my budget will allow. I’ll stick with my Glocks for now but will look used when I get rich and can buy any gun I want.
I love my HK. I really wanted to get the Mk23, commonly known as the SOCOM, but of course, here in the people’s republic of california, it is not legal. I wanted that gun for the legendary reliability, and durability. I did some research, and found out that the USP went through all the same testing, and met all the same requirements as the Mk23, so I bought the USP instead. It wasn’t cheap, but it was worth every penny.
I love the SOCOM, if I ever move out of state, I’ll probably end up buying one…even though the last time I checked they were going for like $1700
But yeah. I love my HK and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid pistol. Check out the wikipedia on it to see all the qualifications it had to meet to pass into production.
Seriously though, friggin awsome gun. Super accurate with match trigger & barrel, and 16 + 1 capacity out of the box = best semi auto 40 caliber for the money (around $600-$700 new)
Glad someone made this topic, I know next to nothing about guns and was wondering if anyone could suggest a pistol that could be carried while riding a motorcycle?
I don’t think the police would approve of me carrying a mac 10/11 or Glock 18.

The answer would depend on your caliber preference, price range, semi-auto vs. revolver etc.
I’m a fan of Glocks so I’d go with a 27 if you prefer .40s or a 26 for 9mm.

First thing you need to do is fix this! Educate yourself on gun safety, how to hold it, how to shoot it, when to shoot, when to walk away, how to care for and store weapons. Take classes, find someone who is VERY familuar with weapons and learn from them. Don’t be a jackass and just go buy some hand cannon and expect to be safe. Carring a weapon is a chore, it’s uncomfortable and can be down right dangerous if you don’t have your head on straight. Most of all what ever you choose shoot the damn thing a lot, be familiar with your weapon, now how it works and how it shoots. Be safe.

My best friend back home wants to get a Desert Eagle in .50 when he turns 21. He’s shot a pistol on less than 3 seperate occasions. He says he just wants it to have it. I can see him hating it after he fires it a couple times.

For the most part they’re pretty pointless unless you collect guns or hunt polar bears. Lets not even talk about the cost of ammo. I’ve never shot one but I’m pretty sure it’s be a hella good time. I have shot a .44 magnum 6" barrel and a .357 magnum 3" barrel, the .357 was pretty intimidating, kicked like nothing I’ve ever shot. I imagine the 50 cal would be awesome.

Most of my buddies have shot it. They said the kick really isn’t as bad as advertised.

I’ve fired my stepdad’s .357 mag on several occasions. I can see why it has a reputation for stopping power. When we were firing hollowpoints out of it we’d dig the slugs out of the boards we were shooting into and they’d be spread out to the size of a nickel or larger.
DDAY…no i dont carry the Equinox P220, i carry the Sig p229 LE…its a Law Enforcement firearm only…as for the quality, i dont see a decline in the Sigs at all?? I know plenty of guys who have bought both Sigs and HKs and love them both to death with zero complaints at all to the Sig…Dont get me wrong, HK are EXCELLENT firearms…my next handgun purchase i make will be HK…i just got an amazing deal on a Benelli NOVA home defense shotgun…its got the Tritium ghost rings on it and all, with the pump grip, and strobe light and laser…one of my LE buddies was getting rid of it couldnt pass i up, way to good of an offer for a firearm that was barely used and looks brand spanking new, it spent the last 2 years in a case…
Carry 9mm or greater. 9mm has gone through a lot of upgrades, if you take into account the +P and +P+ rounds. Just make sure your gun is able to handle them.
In a high stress situation such as a home invasion, you don’t know how you’re going to shoot. Statistically, you’re probably going to miss with your first shot, so rounds might start to count at some point depending on the situation. What if there’s more than one intruder?
I’m not counting on one shot to do the trick. There are too many variables, how thick is the guys clothing, is he wearing any body armor. I’m planning on shooting until the threat stops being a threat, so that means at least one shot, and if I somehow end up going through two magazines past that, then that’s what it takes.
Birdshot. Don’t, please don’t. It does go through dry wall, so the “safety” issue is gone. Any round that will kill someone will go through drywall. You’re responsible for your misses too. Great for practice and shooting clays. Never would even consider it for HD. It’s 00 buck and slugs in my house.
I chose a 9mm as my first handgun. I will be getting a .45 as soon as funds become available, but the 9mm allows me to practice more for my limited $$. So I’m offsetting the potential stopping power of the .45 with the increased odds through practicing shooting my 9mm
