Sorry I’ve let you down Mac, please accept this photo of Jessica Biel as a sacrifice for my misdeed.

Full size this time

Thread hijacking bastards

Anyway. Went to the range. Put about 200 rounds through my P95dao, a rented P95 da/sa and a beretta 92fs.

The verdict? The DAO i was the least accurate with. The SA/DA P95 I was putting multiple bullets through the same hole at 7 yards, the thing was very accurate. With the 92 I had the tightest grouping at 15 yards. Though, honestly, I liked the action better on the P95. Though, I like how the Beretta felt in my hands.

Sooo. Given my budget I think I will selling the DAO and picking up the SA/DA model, putting a flashlight on that bitch letting it sit bedside with some hydra shocks ready to go. Of course, in hopes that I never have to use them.

penetration vs. expansion was the exact point i was trying to hit on about the 9mm vs. a bigger .40 or .45 cal firearm…and the comment about using birdshot is stil pissing me off cuz thats just retarted in my opinion…maybe HolyMacaroni can back me up on that one as well

haha apology accepted.

dude for real man, aside from impressing people at the range by shooting clay pidgeons with a pistol 10/10, the judge is pretty worthless.

Beretta 92fs is a beautiful firearm…

What was it like to fail physics?

birdshot for homedefense!!??!

yeah, i also carry a rubber knife when i go out. wouldn’t want to ACTUALLY cut a guy trying to mug me.

to whoever said that - have you shot at anything more substantial than a dove or a piece of paper using birdshot? how did it turn out? did that ballistic properties of it blow you away? i bet it did! cuz i mean, why the fuck otherwise would you suggest it as a homedefense load.

FML! that’s it, new SOP for my troops, we will only carry birdshot in shotguns!!! b/c if we carried buck, we’d be shooting through walls and other ppl and all kinds of crazy shit would happen!

hope that helps IW

Thank you haha i almost freaked out when i read it myself…im pretty well versed in firearms, and i have used many, and shot plenty of things…im an avid hunter and in law enforcement…some people should be suspended from posting a thing after saying such retarted shit

cheea!

HolyMac,
Have you shot any of the various models of the Beretta Px4? I still have a while before I can own a pistol (21 years old in IL), but I’m already trying to figure out what a good home/potential CC pistol is. I’ve been looking at the Px4 Subcompact, probably in 9mm. Thoughts?

i think if you are considering a pistol for homedefense, there is no reason to consider a subcompact. (or anything other than fullsize, for that matter)

you will benifit GREATLY both in accuracty, grip, recoil managment, magazine capacity, and a host of other things if you go with a fullsize instead of compact.

what you have in your house should be different than what you carry is what i think.

that being said, baretta is a good, solid company and although i have not extensivly checked out the px4, i imagine it’s probably a good handgun.

i think some law enforcement agencies have been using it for a while, and they still use it, so i imagine it functions fine.

**edit!

i fogot that baretta also “just” released the ninety-2. i would suggest checking that out as well. prob in same price range

hmm 250? is that the one where you can switch calibers?

i remember going to the range and the dude had one pistol, and then a box of like 3 differnt kits and went from like 9 to 357sig to 45. was pretty sweet

Yes it is…it was my first handgun i bought, and i love it…you can switch calibers as well as the size of the gun…so you can go from a sub compact .357, to a full size .45…and you only need 1 permit for it, cuz the fireing mechanism/action is the only part with a serial number on it…every size comes in your usual 9mm, .357 sig, .40S&W, and .45ACP…absolutely love it, shot a few thousand rounds through it and never once had a problem with it…

I’ve never quite bought that argument. My 9mm holds 17 rounds. Who is not going down after 17 rounds?
Damn, mine only holds 10…I guess I’m fucked.

In terms of home defense, (which of course is one of the reasons I bought this gun) I may try and trade the DAO model for one with a rail mount so I can put a flashlight on it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to mount it without a rail? I also wouldn’t mind having the double & single action model with a safety. Just a thought.
Um, are you talking about revolvers here?

Yes, i guess in the end just keep your shotgun at the ready with the 00 chambered!
Birdshot. You don’t have to worry about shot placement, knockdown power, OR accidentally killing your neighbor.
You ever been hit with birdshot, sucks like a fat pig in the summer with no mud, but not likely to kill anyone.
