Busted Knuckle Garage Workouts

n8tive,

I live over in Ronan, and your lifts and training is awesome. You might want to consider doing the Montana State WABDL Meet that will be held in Missoula on March 19, 2011. It is a bench press and deadlift meet. With your lifts I could see you easily winning your class and setting new state records. Its just a thought.

That is a thought. I will think on it and see how I feel abut that. I am not really that into competing but it might be a nice change of pace, something more to train for.
I love Ronan and the mission mtns. If I did not live in Cardwell that is where I would be. Thanks for stopping in.

I vehemently dislike the cold so I feel for ya. Nice work getting that BW stuff in - you are a far better woman than I, that’s for sure.

You’d kill it in a competition. I support this idea!

Okay so I am glad to get a workout in. I went to OZ fitness to get this one in while I am in Spokane. What a workout place, it is just a glorified treadmill park. I know you all probably see this kind of thing more than me but i could not believe the amount of folks that come in, run or jog on the treadmill for a 25 minutes and then head out. Unbelievable… is all a person can say about that. Oh well I guess whatever makes em feel better. I was not exceptionally strong or at least feeling that way on the pressing but my nutrition has been pretty hit and miss, not bad stuff just not enough or not consistent with it. Vacation what can I say. Dips were pretty good too, I will up the weight next week.

M— thanks for the kind words. I dont mind the cold that much just need to be prepared for it and expect the unexpected.

look at those dips!

Damn… great workout.

Yeah, the cardio fanatics are a bit frustrating to watch. But I just imagine that it’s their active rest day, because yesterday they just squatted a ton of weight

Awesome pressing. Very inspirational!

Your perspective on the gym-goers is exactly what I was thinking yesterday as I was busting my ass doing intervals on the rower as folks all around me were walking on the treadmills and watching TV.

11/28/2010 Sunday

club swinging
jump rope

5/3/1 Deadlift
warm up of
bar x 5
135lbs x 5
145lbs x 5

My niece & nephew interupted my workout so I did not get everthing in that I wanted. It was a good workout though. Happy with deads for sure. All in all it was good. Nothing to special report about anything else.

And those presses!!!

Nice workout lady!! Club swings = sledge hammer swings type stuff?

Kind of…I am using 1 lb indian clubs to help keep my shoulder in check and working without problems. They look like a small baseball bat that you swing around in different ways to work the shoulders. I have done the swings for about 4 months and my shoulder has been a ton better.

Good stuff, n8tive! Just so you know, my coworker just finished her first “real” back workout, to include deadlifts. She took to them quick. I’ll be introducing her to your log, as well as these other awesome ladies, to keep her motivated. I especially want to see her reaction at a lady working the sledge!!

Excellent pressing and Dling n8tive!

And I love the club swinging. Unconventional to say the least, but quite functional! Cool.

and then I die. do you do them all at once?

Yep I average about 8 minutes for a 100 burpees… depends on the day though. Either 30-45seconds one way or the other.

11/30/2010

club swinging–10lber for 5 minutes
jump rope

5/3/1 bench
warmup sets
bar x 5
65lbs x 5
75lbs x 5

work sets
120lbs x 5
130lbs x 5
135lbs x 7

Decline bench press w/ fat gripz
95lbs 3 x 10
105lbs 1 x 7
110lbs 1 x 5

USA lever pushups 3 x 8
USA chest fly 3 x 8
USA tricep press 3 x 8

good workout all in all. Pretty pleased with the bench, it was not exceptional but it was solid and form was good (at least felt that way). Decline bench is a new exercise to my routine, I will keep for the next couple cycles and see how I respond to it. By the time I got to the USA circuit my chest was pretty fried and fatigued, really dug deep to get thru the circuit with any kind of momentum and zeal. My toes and fingers were a bit chilled though, it was 6 degrees in the cave.
I need to remember to buy some propane next time I go to town… what a pain though. I always bring in a bunch of little 5 gallon bottles (like the kind for the bbq) & it never fails I get the “what exactly are you doing with all these bottles, ma’am?” question. They always ask if I am cooking meth or making drugs, claiming that it is the law to ask those questions to suspicious customers. Well hello I am in my cowboy hat, have cow crap on my boots and dirt all over my flat bed pickup - do ya really think that cooking meth is the only thing propane is used for. Give me a freaking break. I know that meth is the devil and things aren’t always as they seem. But if I was doing something like that I certainly would not be coming back to the same place over and over again to get my bottles filled. /rant…

Holy crap did you warm up your bench with sets of 45? That’s a shit ton of benching. Great work. YOu have incredible strength and strength endurance.

OH crap, nope I must have been in no-where land when I entered this workout. I fixed it to read correctly now, only 5 reps. Sorry for the mistake.
