Busted Knuckle Garage Workouts

glad you got your work out in!

I am jealous of your bench. That is all.

betty - me too!! and a nap (bonus)

bobbi- thanks

2/9/11 P.M workout

rucking with 50lbs for 3 miles

upped the weight today  Feeling pretty sore and tired today, but it has been a busier than normal week.

wow - what a time to catch up. You really are a fighter. I had no clue about the cows rejecting their young… That just doesn’t make much sense evolution wise…

And managing workouts despite the workload!! And here I’ve been complaining about my long work days. You put me to shame. Keep inspiring us

Yep some cows for whatever reason won’t claim a calf at times, they either get interupted while birthing or dont have the scent receptors or something odd like that. We always have a couple every year it seems. there is a whole science behind it but I am not nearly educated in it the way that I should be.
Got to keep working out, it keeps me sane

2/10/2011 WOD

handstand practice
some pushups (randomly done in sets of 10)
10 burpees (that is it for me)
bridging
mobility stuff

ct’s nueral charge workout the BW one
plyo pushups
long jump
med ball slams
squat jump
x 4

Feeling pretty beat up today, but felt alot better after moving around a bit. I enjoyed the handstand practice, going to add it to my list of things to do on non-strength days I think. Ready for my EMS class tonight, learning about shock some more and cardiac emergency’s.

Is it the same cow every year that rejects her calf (or a calf that was rejected rejects her calf) or different ones?

Handstand practice sounds fun

Not usually the same cow, no. If a cow rejects a calf then more than likely the calf will die or i will have to bottle feed the little bugger - either way the cow is making its way to the nearest McDonalds, no room on this place for critters that dont pull their weight!

Some of it is hereditary but we try very hard to elimanate those type of cattle from the herd. Ongoing process and evaluation it seems.

My youngest son and I moving cows

Looking from atop my horse at the end of the cattle drive home this fall.

That picture of you and your son is just beautiful. You certainly don’t look like you haven’t had more than 4 hours of sleep at a time.

That is a lovely pic. I must say I find it amazing that you can do such a physical job, raise a child (and calves), sleep 4 hours max and then do these badass workouts. You’re like a terminator, or something!

yep, my sentiments exactly, Cal!

Thanks to all of ya… I think I must go into some kind of auto drive this time of year. It also is a huge help that my husband does the night shift on Friday & Saturday so i can sleep thru the night, amazing what you can do if you know that there is an end in sight ~ calving season only last 2 months, week by week or day by day I take. Just pushin’ to be a better mom, wife and rancher - that is all I can do, try to improve.

2/11 A.M workout

okay so on the training front

A1. Deadlift
205 x 5
225 x 5
230 x 5
225 x 5

A1. ankle MOB x 30 sec after dead sets

B1. Walking BB lunges (Need to Love the Lunge!! I think I need to make that into a t-shirt)
95lbs x 6/side
105lbs x 6/side
115lbs x 6/side
115lbs x 6/side

B2.cat stretch (on all 4’s you round your back and bring chin to chest then straighten back and lift chin)

C1. Good morning
95lbs x 10
105lbs x 6
115lbs x 6

C2. Side plank with leg lift
3 x 10/ side

D1. GHR neg (I have a ghetto homemade GHR from Ross’s site)
3 x 6

D2. Tri-burpees (burpee and jump into a pullup)
3 x 10

Thats a wrap for this mornings workout. Everything felt good, the tri-burpees were fun just cause I have not done them in forever. Deads felt great ~ I still feel so very far away from my 2x’s bw goal on the deads, but i have plently of time to get to 260lbs. Who knows with enough sleep and some overeating I might be able to get a rep in, but now is not the time to test that. Lunges were good, I have a hard time with them just cause I really dont like them - cause there hard but I am working on my attitude toward them and making sure that my form is top notch on em!!! Okay that is all for now.

N~ quick clarification, that pic is from November of 2010, so I look a bit more run down now but not to bad if I say so myself

Good momma, got the baby hiding from everyone!
