Busted Knuckle Garage Workouts

Hollow Rock

Lying on your back with legs straight and arms outstretched overhead, lift the feet and shoulders and arms off the floor by crunching the abs and pushing the lower back into the floor to reverse the lordotic arch and create a curved surface like the bottom of a rocking chair. Initiate and continue a fore and aft rocking motion.

Yea the smoking gig is a hard habit to get rid of for sure, I feel for ya. I never smoked but I did use chewing tobacco for 12 yrs and it was by far one of the most DIFFICULT things I ever had to give up. Better off for it, way better off but it was tough. Perserver and you will get thru it, but it never goes away - the feeling the desire the want, realize that right now, the urge will always be there. Somedays you may not think about it and other days it will inhibit all your thoughts. You have to prepare MENTALLY for that.

hkd---- thanks for dropping in and the venison chili was awesome.

chewing tobacco?! hah! I hate to say it but that’s pretty badass.

great training as per usual n8tive! Nice DLing.

Have you ever stumbled across Alpha’s Warrior Athlete:

well, he also does this thing called ‘rucking’ which is basically walking with a weight, and FWIW, he logs it. So you’re in good company!

1/29/11 Saturday

Mobility & stretching

1/30/11 Sunday

club swinging
skin the cats
mob stuff (shoulders & tris)

5/3/1 Bench
warm up
bar x 5
65lbs x 5
85lbs x 5
worksets
130lbs x 3
135lbs x 3 (did 4 reps, forgot which cycle I was on i guess)
145lbs x 5

Decline close grip bench
3 sets of 115lbs x 10
2 sets of 120lbs x 10

30lbs hammer curls 3 x 8

USA Suspension fly x 10
USA Suspension Arm circle x 10
USA Suspension Pushups x 5
x 3 (done as a circuit with about 45 sec rest between sets)

BP felt solid and strong. The decline BP was good too, still takes some getting used to having my upper body that way but it is getting less weird feeling. USA Suspension circuit was good, I like circuits on the USA cause I always get a good “burn” going on in my anterior delt area. Going for a run later this afternoon - hoping that the snow doesn’t come down to hard between now and then, cause I want to run outside today. Got the urge to put some miles down on the dirt there is a race in Feb I want to run in if I am not to tired and worn out by then from calving!!

Venison chilli does sound great. I can get venison here in London but it’s expensive, so I generally just use beef.
Your workouts continue to be inspiring. I need to try those hollow rocks.

killer bench sets.

even saying the words “chew/chaw” makes me gag. too much time spent around cowfolk and indians who all start that shit right out the womb. fuckin’ barf.

i do remember chewing a few times floating those mt. rivers and i would get so dizzy i could barely stay on my tube. lol

Deja, yea them injuns & cowpokes normally don’t have any regard to where, when or why they spit thar chaw where they do. Very annoying really. Yep that is what got me hooked is that make your headspin, endorphin rushing high you get when you first throw a dip in. I can imagine you falling in the Clark Fork from being dizzy headed from taking a dip  LOL

dead dog tire today, Gettting up every 1-2 hours to check on calves in sub zero temps takes a toll on a gal. ANother night of freezing butt temps and then it is supposed to warm up. But in the meantime every cow that looks like it might be thinkng of dropping the extra bundle on the ground needs to be brought in so that they dont freeze to the ground. Ugh fun for me. But I took a nap this morning and got my workout in and feel almost human again. I am planning on doing some burpees later on tonight in between checking cows. Oh the workout was good - pulls were tough my upper back feels fatigued for some reason but all in all it was a decent workout.

sending any extra energy i have your way. good luck tonight. no fun!

of course you’re still killing it despite the circumstances. bravo.

Vacation was fantastic - an adventure and relaxing and beautiful. Couldn’t ask for more.

seriously I would so be ditching the workouts if I had to go through your nights. You have an iron will.

How many calfs have been born so far?

Wow N8tive! Your like a night shift nurse! Hopefully the cold snap breaks soon and you can get some rest! Thank goodness you take care of your animals!!

Deja— thanks for the bump of energy!!

main— Ahhh glad to hear that you had a splendid time on vacation - you deserve it… The workouts are about all that keep me sane, I would have a mental break down if I didn’t workout. It is the only time I get for me & I am taking it, come hell or high water. We only have about 15 calves on the ground but I have had to bust my toosh for each & every one of them there little buggers… only 160 left to go

Coyote—exaactly a night shift nurse is the word & a day shift one too but that is a whole 'nother story. S’pose to warm up by thurs or friday. I hope so - then I dont have to worry so much, which takes a bigger toll than the work - I swear.
