Defidently keep an eye on it. Is it warm to the touch? How long ago was the shot? Ive had a red lump stay for over a week and then it diminished.

If its warm to the touch, tender and starts to get much bigger than its something to worry about.

It’s always going to be “warm to the touch.” It’s sub-dermal. It won’t be “cold to the touch.”

Look for discoloration or an expanding tenderness to the area.

I sometimes get a bump when I inject with red and tenderness. If it gets more tender, take a pen and mark the area where the redness is. If the affected site swells or decreases in size you will be able to have a perception on how much. If it does not go get better and you start to have a mild flu-like symptoms go to the doctor.Do not hesitate to see a doctor because you are taking stuff without a prescription.

They see much crazier stuff than what you are doing, they may give you a little crap about it, but they are not going to call the cops or get you in trouble. When it happened to me I went to a clinic instead of my primary doctor.

When I got the infection I was worried about my gear being unclean. The best I could do was convince him to prescribe me Androgel for a month to help taper down a bit. But I feel it was better than than just stopping cold.(just in case you were wondering, my PCT was going to be a test taper). Good luck.

I’ve had a baseball sized lumps on my glute. Some have been painful and lasted a week and a half. It always got better. These things just happen. Some gear can give people problems while the same stuff doesn’t, some of it is crap too. I’ll tell you, that there’s some brands of injectables I will totally avoid.

I’ve experienced alot of swelling, redness and pain with some gear. Sometimes it took a couple weeks to clear, impeding my workouts. Everybody is different on how to treat this. Some feel it is necessary to seek medical attention, (probably a good idea) although I’ve always gutted them out and they cleared up.

guys,
i appreciate the input, you’ve helped put my mind at ease. To be a bit more specific, the injection was 4 days ago, at this point. The lump is not tender to the touch, its just there (and i think it has gone down a bit)and my glute just feels like it has been through an extremely tough workout.
On a related note, i think i recall reading that cypionate tends to be a painful injection. I interpreted that to mean the injection itself, but now i’m wondering if the article meant the after effects of the injection.
any thoughts on that? thanks.

I think that you have cyp confused with prop. As most tend to feel like they have been kicked in the legs for a couple days after a prop injection.

I too like others here have had this happen a time or two. I have found that sitting on a heating pad helps disperse the oil caught in the muscle. Hopes this helps.

It will probably happen a few other times. It might not be a bad idea to have some antibiotics in hand. I can relate to how it can make someone worry.

One time I got a bump on top of my glute, under the skin. I was thought about draining it with an 18 gauge syringe but it cleared up. Later I talked with an experienced vet who had drained them the same way. These are a noninfected cysts filled with gear I believe. An infected one is something to worry about. If you go to the Doc, be careful what you say. Some things can go on your medical records making it hard to get insurance coverage.
