Bullfighting & Fox Hunting Bans

I would imagine you feel the same support for bans on cockfighting then, along with other bloodsports since it is pretty much the same.

Depends what you mean by ‘bloodsports.’ I don’t think they are all the same and I would not support cockfighting bans.

Why do sweetbreads have nothing to do with bread and sweetmeats have nothing in common with meat?

Sweetbreads is worse (but tastier) than testicles. It’s the Thymus gland from (usually) veal.

so tell me the difference between a dog fight and a cock fight? do you know, or are you basing your beliefs off some media reports?

while you’re at it, I’m interested to know if you think animals have some hierarchy of order in terms of “rights”?

i fucking hate i got sucked into this but here i am :frowning:
SexMachine wrote:

also, let’s define and list some “bloodsports” and I’d like you hear who you distinguish them from one another. what makes one “bloodsport” “okay” and another “unacceptable”.
pushharder wrote:
The answer is…there IS no (fucking) difference. Even when compared to bullfighting.

Hooking a tuna/marlin/sailfish/bream/catfish/bass and then “playing it” on the end of a line, reeling it in, gaffing it, pulling it on board, and them clubbing it to death while it flops around in bottom of boat…aint no (fucking) difference from competing with a bull in a ring.

In fact, it, bullfighting, is far more “sporting” when you think about it.
I agree for the most part with this and it’s why I’ve refined my fishing to be a little more… humane. Sometimes there’s not much you can do, but I am not big on the “fight” which a lot of people seem to love, and I cut my fish’s spine as soon as I can possibly do so. The whole head comes off shortly after that and then it goes on ice. So it’s dead within seconds of coming close enough for me to cut. I either use an extremely sharp hunting knife or an equally sharp axe. It’s 100xs faster than the old clubbing method.

The more I read from this fool, I think it is some 18 year old twilight obsessed female.

seriously, just because you live in a city and are sheltered from reality, doesn’t mean other people don’t actually hunt to eat or feed others.

Animals are food get over it.
No, hunters use that their pitiful excuse to kill animals. “to feed their families” thats total crap. why not go to the grocery store and get them some food thats actually good for them. Oh, and i hate Twilight. My point is, why are animals food and humans aren’t. why do we get to decide that animals are food. who are we to decide that. I decided that all hunters are cowards and should all die a painful death.
Then come get some.

And where the hell do you think the food at the grocery store comes from.

Rather than waste money, I raise my own food and shoot the varmint deer that try to eat my crops. I also raise pigs, chickens and cattle to slaughter; all pastured organic meat. Better than anything you can get in a grocery store. And the fact you say venison is not better than meat at a grocery store only further perpetuates how ignorant, in fact you are to the truth.

Like I said have fun trying to kill the guy that put your brains through the back of your skull at 1000 meters (by that I mean a skilled hunter)

Owe in PA we donate some extra meat to food shelters, what do you do for society you pathetic excuse for keyboard warrior.

Debate aside, I got kind of hungry reading this. Time for breakfast.

Opening day yesterday for deer and elk.

My woman got her buck right off the bat. Not a trophy but then again she was putting meat in the freezer. She was tickled to death.

One shot from her .270 right through the heart at 150 yards right smack dab on the US/Canadian border. She gutted it herself while I took the pics.

Ha! I was hunting in shorts and cleats. It was warm and drizzly, about 53 degrees F.

Why dont you hang it up somewhere when you gut it?

It’s hanging now in my shop.

You don’t hang it to gut in the field.
We do.

Way easier.

Two cuts trough the achilles tendons, hoist it up, cut throat, open up, cut whatever you call the thingy at the bottom that releases it all, pull everything out, cut of head for trophy, take meat.

Haha. Kudos to your wife, but your story of how it went down reminded me of a Ron White skit.

I know about dog fighting. Never been to a cockfight. Doesn’t interest me.

Animals don’t have ‘rights’ but obviously there is a sort of ‘value’ hiererarchy. A dog has more ‘value’ than a rooster.

so here is how I hunt fox (and coyote), I shoot a rabbit, cut it open, cut the bladder to let the urine out over the carcass. I through it in the middle of a field not near chickens or piglets near dusk. and weight with my rifle.

Or if they come near my property on their own, which they really don’t anymore, I open the door and let the dogs have them.

I usually only bait if other neighbors are having issues. alot of them are older and just have a few chickens for eggs, can’t really do it themselves anymore.
I just grab a patterdale and go to where they (fox) fucking live.

And if we had coyote here, I’d cut loose one of my pitbulls.

Problem solved.
For some reason, they generally don’t come on my property unless I lure them now. Could be from the last time my white face rednose tried to dye the rest of skin red and didn’t realize coyote blood just wouldn’t do it.

plus I like to use my toys once in a while.
Haven’t read the latter half of this thread yet, but down in Texas, the way we keep coyote away from our animals is by stringing up the carcass of one of their recently slaughtered brethren to a barbed wire fence. They are intelligent enough to get the message.

Good stuff from you, push and TBG here.

@RV, if you haven’t yet (then I’m sure you won’t), then please let us know about your amazing vegetarian diet. Did you and Mykael get the top secret Navy program from his dad?

I asked you to tell me the difference. You’re opposed to one, not the other. That it doesn’t interest you is not a rational basis for your earlier argument.

Explain from what spring comes the “value hierarchy” of animals? And should laws be based on anything so arbitrary? Without some logical or moral underpinning, it’s just an emotional position. And I say there is no logical or moral underpinning to ANY “value hierarchy” when it comes to animals.

Even the beloved dog (and cat) is consumed in other cultures. And conversely, other animals we do not “value” in our culture are revered.

It’s nonsensical in my opinion to oppose pitting two birds but objecting to pitting two dogs. I’d like to know if you have more than an emotional objection to it.
