Bulldog : Coming Back ON HOLD

I will have to catch the video when I get home. This particular company blocks it. It sucks not being THE network god anymore.

2nd string on the varsity? That is awesome. Is he a sophomore? Or am I mis-remembering?
If he is playing fullback, he must enjoy hitting. Why does that not surprise me…

They are a run first team… I think we are one of the few teams in the state that still runs the inverted Wishbone .

Warm up : band movements

OHP: 2 x 20 x bar
90 x 5
110 x 4
130 x 3
150 x 2
170 x 12
130 x 20… upped the training max from the last cycle by 50 lbs

Bent over rows : 5 x 10 x SW
C.G. Bench: 5 x 10 x 165…moved the weight up from the last cycle still pretty light.
super set ( band pull aparts 100 total reps)

Thick rope curls: 3 x 10 x SW

That was it.

170x12 is a nice set! And 130x20 counts as cardio.

Maybe you could jog in place while you’re doing the OHP too for a real challenge. That’ll show those crossfit yippies a thing or two.

LOL

Warm up: PVC pipe light stretching and shoulder mobility work

Squats: 2 x 10 x Bar
2 x 5 x 135
185 x 3
230 x 5
275 x 4
325 x 3
370 x 2
415 x 6…kept a bunch in the tank
2 x 325 x 10

Deadlifts: 5 x 2 x 320
370 x 1
415 x 3… just did the call for reps wasn’t feeling 100% at this point

GM’s: 3 x 10 x 145
Standing Band crunches: 3 x 10

That was it…

What is your current goal for squats(heavy reps? heavy PR?)?

Warm up: Light band and DB movements

Bench: 2 x 20 x bar
95 x 10
135 x 5
185 x 5
215 x 4
250 x 3
285 x 2
320 x 6… Had more in the tank, in reality I should have gone for broke but I was being overly conservative.
3 x 8 x 250

Pull downs : 5 x 10 x some weight
arm curls: who cares
Band pull aparts: 100 total reps

Like I stated maybe I should have pushed my heavy set harder… but on a good note my left shoulder felt alright and the bar speed was good.

Right now I would say I am sorta in a base building mode. As it stands Im just slowly building back up to my training max . Since I dropped it low starting back up from my little ouchy. If anything I will probably hit a few rep Pr’s during this period until I jump into a peaking phase.

There are no universal truths in lifting- there’s only what’s working for you right now, and what have and haven’t worked for you in the past. All else is fucking horseshit -Jamie Lewis

Glad things are feeling alright and you are getting back into your groove. I am sure you would like them higher, but strong numbers.

415x6 on squats was never more than a pipe dream for me.

If I recall you have lower back issues which makes it hard to squat. To be honest… I need to light a flame under ass and bring my lower body strength up to a more respectable level.

Ill gladly take your 415 for 6…hell 415 for 1…my match for your flame…if you don’t get 465x5 by thanksgiving I call you “baby back bitch” for the year

Are you patient enough to keep adding 5 pounds a week on the squat for 6 reps? I bet by the end of the year you could be doing 500 lbs for 6 reps.
