Well i feel like a newbie asking this but what do you guys suggest for a bulking diet when you work 8-9 hours a day behind a desk?
I tried my old bulking diet from my college days but I was putting on fat way to fast. (Too many carbs and too much sitting on my ass I guess)
I like the A/D for dropping fat, but it doesn’t work so well for me with adding muscle.
Thanks for any suggestions guys!
Btw I may or may not be going on a cycle of IGF-1 and if I do I would of course bump up my cals and carbs.
My thoughts so far are to limit my carbs to just before training and then 2 meals following training, one meal being Surge.
Here is what I have come up with so far, although I need more Cals:
Breakfast:
4 eggs
1 packet oatmeal
Egg whites
Snack:
Apple
Metabolic Drive
Lunch:
Lean Meat
Salad
Snack:
Metabolic Drive Complete
Workout
Post-Workout
Surge with creatine
Dinner:
Pasta with ground beef
Snack:
Tuna salad/ chicken salad
definitely need more cals in the sample diet. good idea to limit the carbs tho, same thing happened to me and I too am a desk jockey. even though they were always ‘good’ carbs, i found i personally couldnt have carbs with every meal for extended periods of time and expect to gain a personally acceptable ratio of lbm to fat. I desperately needed more veggies in my diet anyway, just like your sample diet does. takes a bit more prep work initially for a lower carb diet. its easy to throw leftover meat in between two slices of bread, instead of chopping up some peppers, cherry tomatoes, fresh broccoli, spinach, and almonds to have with said meat. tons of recipes here search Chef Lisa Marie on this site and she has a sick thread. try getting some GPP/activity outside the office too, i just got back on my mountain bike after it being in storage for 2 years. that coupled with simply not eating carbs, good or not, with EVERY meal has gave me a nice little body recomp this spring.
Up the activity levels.
I started putting on fat with my latest bulking diet, I increased my activity with more sled pulling and more extra workouts and the fat gain slowed and I even started burning some of it off while still adding mass.

haha funny how things work out, i just got done with a evening run and came to check T-Nation and saw your post.
I got some turkey sausge to add to my eggs in the morning, and these BBQ chicken breasts in a bag, kinda like tuna fish, to eat throughout the day. I’ll up my veggies too.

Dude, you’re like 22 or so. WTF? Seriously, WTF?
If you want to go on a cycle (and I’ve seen your pics and do not think you are close to your “genetic limit,” so even a cycle at all isn’t a great idea) do something mild like winstrol/stanozolic. Or maybe even the classic deca/d-bol stack.
But IGF-1?
Where are you getting your information from? Who told you this was a good idea?

Well I’m 23 and those pics are from when I was 20 and 21. But that;s not even the point, I have a wide range of reasons for choosing what I did, most of which are of no concern to you. I should have know better than post what I was going to go on, I was only making the point that I may post a second meal plan with more calories.
Where do you get off getting so worked up over this? Damn, go blow up at someone else.
Btw since we seem to judge what other people should do by their profile pics, I updated mine. Granted they still aren’t that up to date.
The last pic is would be from when I won 3 gold medals after coming back from a broken back and still having 2 blown knees. Hmm 2 busted to hell knees and ? Also of note, and of special interest to both athletes and bodybuilders who are rehabbing an injury is that IGF is vital to the proper production of connective tissue, and exogenous IGF administration may improve collagen formation and aid in the repair of cartilage. (19)(18). IGF is also vital to proper bone density?
So there?s one of my reasons.
I don?t have any cartilage in my knees, I?ve had this problem since I was in HS and was forced to quit pitching because I had dying bone in my knees as a result of the joints smacking together.

I love this response. People post in a public forum, and then throw a fit when people respond.
Sure, it’s your life and your health to ruin. If you said you were going to start smoking crack, I’d say this was a bad idea.
I’m far from being anti-drug. But there’s a difference between doing a cycle of a mild AAS and using IGF-1. (I would also say someone your age should not be injecting test.)
I would have a hard time thinking of someone who knows what he was talking about who would recommend that you use IGF-1. I at least hope you have a doctor or someone highly educated that you are PAYING. Using IGF-1 is serious business, and getting free advice from anonymous people on the Internet is not the way to go.
If you are paying a qualified person to walk you through your drug use, then that’s one thing. If you’re knowledge is based on stuff you’ve read on the Internet, then, well…
Well IGF-1 argument aside I think I got the diet down:
Breakfast:
4 eggs
Egg Whites
Turkey sausage
multi vitamin
Snack about 2hrs later:
Apple
1 packet weight control oatmeal
Lunch:
Lean meat
Veggies with olive oil
Small portion of brown rice and beans
Snack about 2 hrs after lunch:
PB sandwhich made with one slice of bread
Metabolic Drive
handful of nuts
Workout
Surge post workout
1hr PWO:
Metabolic Drive complete
Dinner:
Lean meat
Veggies with olive oil
fruit
Before bed:
chicken breast or tuna
ZMA
Before some of my heavier workout days I may add in some whole wheat pasta before working out.
I tried to limit most of my carbs to around my workout, but I’m keeping some in during the morning/afternoon since I am bulking and it helps keep my energy up at work.
Let me know what y’all think!

Ok well fair enough about the public forum bit. As for paying a Dr. I think I have studied the issue enough to know more than the avg. general practitioner but none the less I do have 2 MD’s that know what I have planned out and will be watching. One of which is a genetics Dr.
I?m not doing this to get HUUUGE so my dosage is on the low end and I will not be doing any long cycles.

Bang on. Sometimes you just cant help those who refuse to help themselves. The OP couldnt give any good reason as to why he is doing what he is doing so through a hissy fit blaming you for butting in to his personal life! Bit ironic for a public forum, I agree.

ummm I did respond, and I gave him credit for making that point already.
Thanks for beating a dead horse though =)
Good to hear from you man, hows the new job going? Are you still rowing at all?
Hey its my clemson brother. The job goes man. Not the most exciting stuff but it pays well.
No rowing for me at least while up here in MI. I’ll be transfering down in Jan to either Anderson or Charleston and there I’ll either row for clemson again or CofC

Well, that’s good to hear. I would not have commented earlier if I hadn’t been concerned about your health.
