Bulking cycle advice

Hi guys,

I’m doing bodybuilding for personal purposes, not competing at all.

I’m currently on a cutting cycle but already thinking about a future bulking cycle.

Short background and personal info, I’m 1m68, bulked with a first cycle as follows:

  • Test E 300mg/week, week 1 to 12
  • Anavar 40mg/day, week 5 to 12 (highly suspect it was actually Winstrol though considering the joint pain I got during this cycle)

Went from 68kg to 77,5kg

Now I am cutting with:

  • Test E 300mg/week
  • Primo 400mg/week

Started at 77,5kg on 08/01/24 and currently at 73kg.

Current state:

Around 8 weeks left since I have planned a 16 weeks cutting cycle compared to the 12 weeks for my first bulking cycle.

The ideas for what’s next is as follows:

  • Some months off gear with proper PCT/Recovery
  • Diet as a form of maintenance to stay as lean as possible.

Then Bulking cycle, for 16 weeks as follows:

  • 400mg Test E
  • 400mg EQ

What do think?

The idea is to pack on some good muscles all along but to have minimum water retention.

Increasing a bit Test since I have only been staying at 300mg/week then a bit unsure about the second compound.

You look awesome dude!!! Whatever you’re doing is working.
As far as the bulk the test is fine at 400 but I would go 600-800 for the eq and prob run it for 16-20 weeks.
Maybe think about adding in 50mg anadrol on training days for a few weeks once your lifts stall to keep progression.

Not sure about Anadrol from what I could read back then but I’ll read again since it has been a long time and I never took the time to go deep on this compound.

Do you have any idea on the way I should eat to stay at maintenance during PCT after this cutting cycle and for the months off?

I remember after my previous bulk and PCT, I ate the same but started to gain some slight fat all over the body (not dramatic at all) but like the obvious fat burning effect of gear not being here and may be some LDL/HDL rebalance?

I’d like to avoid that behavior this time.

For diet I usually eat the same things year round just adjust the carbs up and down based on my goals.
Usually 200-250g protein and .3g/lb fats. Fill the rest in with carbs.
Think the key is not to make drastic changes when you come out or go into a bulk or cut. Take 4-5 weeks to get you cals back where you want them.

That’s a good idea.

It will be not be for now as I still have 8 weeks to go in this cutting cycle then PCT and months off.

But I may come back here and start a log while doing this bulk down the line, it sounds good!

I’m 168cm tall :slight_smile:

In terms of workout, I’m used to training 6 times a week, 35min max from Monday to Friday and up to 1h when it falls on the weekend.

I mainly do 1 muscle group at a time together with abs at the end sometime.

I do 5 exercises/muscle group (excluding abs where I usually do only 3). 3 or 4 sets/exercise and reps from 8 to 14 with a progressive overload between sets.

I only work biceps and triceps once a week though since they are too big for my taste, and I only do 1 exercise for each of them.

Ever since the above picture, I stayed for 2 months in maintenance at 2000kcal/day and started to bulk last Saturday.

I’m now at 2500kcal/day and using 500mg/week test E and 400mg mast E.

After a lot of readings, I wanted to try this combination since it is praised for its pretty good synergy and overall quality gains with close to none water gains.

I’m currently cutting. I just decided to go all in a month ago and hop on anabolics. I was just on TRT before.

What made you choose masteron? I have no experience with it, but have heard it elevates your sex drive to outrageous levels- like you become a masturbating freak. Have you had any trouble with this?

By the way I interpreted you saying that you do abs nearly every time you train. Is that correct? I’m only doing them twice a week now, so I’m thinking I should up my abs volume now.

Also, you’re in the gym way less length of time per session than I expected you to say. Are you doing the core compound lifts? What are you able to get done in 35min?

And of course, I love Lord of the Rings too. Movies and books.

I do abs 3-4 times a week I would say, I just try to include them when I have time.

In 35min I have time for 1 muscle group and as described 5 exercices, 3 or 4 sets/exercice.

I don’t rest a lot between sets actually, 30sec average I would say (I don’t calculate).

In terms of exercises, I actually do what I like and what fits my body/genetic. For example I never do bench press with the bar, only with dumbbells. With the bar it takes too much on my front delt even with the right position and I don’t get much pumps whereas with dumbbells I can put my wrist in a way that I feel it way better on my chest.

I don’t do squats for exemple since I don’t like the exercise and I also don’t work my front delts, I’m actually trying to correct my body and get some bigger rear delts. Focusing on areas where I’m late is a priority.

Overall, I’m just thinking about having a coherent muscular look.

For Masteron, I’m only 1 week in together with test so it has not fully kick in since both are enanthate. It’s the first time for me using Mast so I’ll update you later on the effects of this combination. I chose those two mainly to avoid as much as I can water retention from steroids.

Sounds good, keep me updated. I’m going to try dumbbells instead of barbell bench tomorrow. I’ve got a shoulder injury I’ve been nursing and barbell bench hurts sometimes.

Have you been able to develop your lower body muscularity like your upper body?

You’ve only posted upper body shots.

If you’re not squatting has your lower body fell behind?

I ran Test P and Masteron. Good results.
