Bulk Shake for Bulk Cycle?

Hey guys Im hitting my bulking cycle soon having finished my cutter and am going to up the calories to 4,000 a day. Obviously I want to keep fat gain to a minimum due to my successful cutting cycle so would you recommend that I take a weight gaining shake (900) calories or is it to fatty and sugary to retain lean gains?

Some of the higher quality weight gainers have a decent nutrient make up. The cheaper ones are loaded full of fructose to make up their carb content.

If you are worried about the cheaper carb contents use protien powders, egg whites (pasturized) for your protien source, berries, milk, yougourt, quick oats, honey, and natural peanut butter for your carbs. Extra flax or olive oil can be added for necessary fats. Add some powder BCAAs as well to get your daily intake of them up.
See Ya

Cool thanks for that.

1 cup uncooked oats
2 cups whole milk
1-3 scoops of protien powder
1 cup frozen berries
some extra virgin olive oil

1100 calories

any sort of varation like that is a good way to go

Yeah, i’m also a fan of making up your own weight gainer shake as opposed to buying something that calls itself a weight gainer.

This was one of my favorites:

2 Scoops Metabolic Drive
Cup of vanilla yogurt
2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
Cup of uncooked oats
Handful of pecans
Add as much cold water to get the consistency you want. Blend.

Other things to add to up the calories:
Tablespoon or two of olive oil or walnut oil
Tablespoon or two of honey

You also might want to consider a Protein and Fat-dense shake for the later parts of the day and Protein and Carb-dense shake for earlier in the day.

2 scoops Dorian Yates Pro Peptide
2 tbsp natural PB
frozen berries

add more shit if you want, you can’t go wrong!

Haha, that sounds like breakfast! I just use 2% instead of Whole and Natural PB instead of the EVOO. It’s a taste thing. Lots of good calories in there.

1 cup oats, 1 cup whole milk, 2 scoops pro powder [I use ON 100% whey]1 banana and 1 big spoonful of natty pb. Comes out to 900-950 cals. This is my breakfast every morning.

That has been my breakfest every morning for the last 4-5 months (other than some weekends I will make an 8 egg omlete or something.) I buy RAW whole milk, I used to use 2% sometimes I throw some peanut butter in there… I used to use mixed berries but I can’t stand making a shake with berries that have seeds in them so now its blueberries.

Isn’t that real thick with just 1 cup of milk?

another tip for making shakes that have oats in them let that blender go as long as possible or else it will come out chunky and nasty! also do in this order
pour the oats in
than milk
than protien powder
than frozen fruit
than EVOO or Peanut butter, etc

There comes a point when your shaker bottle just gets completely full. At that point, if you need more cals, just go with calorically denser options of the following:

  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 3 heaping spoonfulls of natty peanut butter
  • 1tbsp high lignan flax oil, or equivalent of milled flax seeds
  • 1 serving of pro pow
  • 1 serving of Greens+
  • 3 heaping spoonfulls of natural yogurt
  • possibly a smaller banana

This is such a nice little daily break from the typical piles of meat that is required for mass gains. Easy to make, easy to travel with, quick chugability, and tastes pretty damn good too.
