wait, what?! holy hell!

Great bug, now you brought attention to the thread.
I’m using it as more of a… Rate my progress, if you will lol

I appreciate the confidence =)

Wow, I finally looked up stretchers. They look wicked!

Right now I’m putting my lats in Thibs’ hands, with the HS-100 back specialization program, but that exercise has me thinking that I should replace the straight arm pulldowns with the stretchers, in the superset with the rope lat pulldowns. Might work, no?

Sorry, why am I telling you this?

Meanwhile, this:

…is where being 5 feet comes in handy. I won’t need a higher pulley

FML why won’t my log update post go through…

Bug, been reading your log for the last few weeks. Looks like you’re going real good.

I also stalk you, just a little  just because fore some reason i feel like, although you’re miles ahead of me, our body shape is quite similar, in terms of narrower shoulders, arms that wont grow, legs that do, thick on the side, thin from the front.

No! sorry, that all sounds bad, and im not taking anything away from you, but i feel as though we both have to work way harder on width and arm size is all. Keep up the good work and maybe in a few years, i can show you exactly wat i mean when i compare our pics.

Hahahaha thanks man. My shoulders really aren’t THAT narrow. I have decently wide clavicles and my shoulders arent amazing, but they arent horrible either. You’re definitely right about the arms, although due to how flat the long head is of my tricep, they arguably look better from the front or the back than from the side. My legs suck though so you got me there!

Thanks for reading man! forces me to keep updating this thing.

today its 19 degrees. power outages galore. Texans cant handle the cold (me included). Leg day tonight, the gym better not fucking close.

FUCKING FINALLY I get through a leg workout without pain. YES. At least, not the joint and tendon pain I was feeling… my muscles were on FIRE. Warmed up super thoroughly (8 min on the stationary bike at a very high level to get blood flowing and heart pumping, foam rolling, stretch, ab/adductor machines, stretch):

Oh, also. My training partner had to train early, so while I was warming up, a gym buddy I saw was warming up for legs also. I invited him to join me, knowing he never trains legs too hard. During the warmups I was a little nervous he might fuck it up, but he actually did really, really well. Pushed me through the end to almost puking my brains out.

Lying leg curls, meadows style
50 x 20
70 x 20
110 x 15
130 x 12
170 x 8
130 x 10, 110 x 10, 90 x 10, 50 x idk, 30 x idk partials. Got a RIDICULOUS pump from this. couldn’t keep my legs straight. This set the tone for the rest of the workout.

SLDLs, meadows style (true 3sec negative, pause at the stretch, explosive concentric driven by hammies, HARD glute ham flex at the top. HOLY SHIT these were painful)
135 x 10, 10, 10 (my damn sore forearms made it hard to hold onto the weight olo)

Leg press, 3 sec neg, no lockout
1pps x 15
3pps x 12
5pps x 8
7pps x 10, 10, 10 (I did intense quad stretches between sets per recommendation of a friend… made each set progressively harder and the pump more intense. amazin. Also began to suck down puke at this point… think my last meal and workout shake were a lil too close to the workout…

Hack squats (been awhile since I done these)
1pps x 10
2pps x 10
2pps 25 x 10, 10 (last set done bottoming out, 1-2sec pause, exploding up, then dropped to 1pps and repped to failure. I was annhilated after)

Foam roll, stretch, putter around and not throw up.

Horray! DOHCrazy staying with me for the weekend, so we will hit delts tomorrow.

Looking at that workout makes me want to hit legs again even though I did them yesterday.

Awesome intensity.

Ev, I looked at your last leg workout for inspiration for todays. <3

maybe when I have 30in quads like yours, you’ll let me come lift with you?

my little babies PWO.

vids of you a doh, doing shoulders?!

x2

<3

screw you and your narrow clavicles.

jk brah

No vids today, sorry guys. Will try and get vids of arm day (Saturday I think).

DOH moves really fast haha, so i was just trying to keep up. Kinda forgot to bust out the cam.

Here is kinda what we did

Smith shoulder press
135 x 15
225 x 10
245 x 8
275 x 5, 225 x 5, 135 x 10ish and partials. All sets done with relatively low rest

DB shrugs
80s x 15
110s x 15
135s x 10

DB laterals
30s x 15
45s x 12
55s x 10, 25s x 10ish, 15s x 10ish with squeeze

Facepulls on the latpulldown
3 sets x some

Lateral machine, meadows style (DOH made each rep a lot harder so only got to 15reps or so each set)
3 sets of 15 excruciating reps.

Barbell front raises
45lbs x 12
65lbs x 10, 10

and that was it. munched out after. He ate cookies and brownies too with my roommate. i ate a pickle.

i hope he gets fat. asshole. :frowning:

forgot to write down our arm day on Saturday. did meadows arms similarly to how i’ve been doing it. Then did 30min PWO cardio. Was good. then raged my face off Saturday night. woot cardio. Skiploaded on Sunday, and this morning i weighed in even less than yesterday morning. Weird.

today was Meadows back. Pretty crazy. I was carbed up from yesterday and felt very strong. Could have bumped the weight on some of the early exercises. Still, with the gym being super hot (idk why, like they are keeping the fucking heater on) and with keeping rest periods short, I looked like I had come out of a swimming pool after the second exercise.

Meadows rows (felt very strong today, coulda done 3 plates)
1plate x 12
2plates x 8
2p 35 x 10, 10, 10

DB rows (prob will switch these out next week for something else)
115 x 6
145 x 8, 8, 8 (per side obv.)

Stretchers (took these heavier… dont think I can go heavier than 150 on my machine cuz I cant stay on the ground (unless I have someone hold me lol)
130 x 12
150 x 10

Partial pulldowns (awesome today)
175 x 10
187.5 x 10
200 x 9, 125 x some, 65 x some (great pump)

Stretched lats.

Cybex chest-supported row machine
2pps x 10, 10, 10 (2 sec neg, 1 sec squeeze)

DB shrugs (traps were rly sore from Thurs / girls sitting on my traps on Sat. night at this party…)
100’s x 15, 15, 12

Cable curls (2 sec negative, squeeze at peak)
4 ascending sets of like 15, 12, 10, 9 reps

Seated alt. DB curls (very controlled, felt great)
35’s x 10/side
45’s x 8/side
55’s x 8/side (then did some lighter weights for more squeeze)

and that was that. Good day. Waist is down, bodyweight coming down slowly as well.

Damn solid lifting in here bug. Your presses are getting crazy strong.

Question:(ebomb feel free to offer input here too)
Do you think you need a certain level of development for those Meadows style training days? Or can anyone (like myself) do them?
dont think I can go heavier than 150 on my machine cuz I cant stay on the ground (unless I have someone hold me lol)
Can you use a bench to plant your foot on?
mumbles I did.

blaze, I think the meadows style lifting is definitely useful at most levels of training. If nothing else, you can keep more traditional lifts that you want to do and incorporate them (maybe before all the crazy pump stuff) so you still have some pure strength progression. thats what Im gonna try to do with bench. And, every other week or so I’m going to do some shoulder pressing. The back, arm, and leg days are fucking flawless.

Nikki, I do plant my foot, but at my height, the bench is so low when it gets pretty heavy, it still pulls me off the ground. plzdontyellatmeluv
