Really solid leg day. I needed that. I was feeling a bit discouraged earlier today with my training, with the stress of school and lack of sleep not helping. I bought one of the big Monster (locarb, obvi) cans, took 2 200mg caff pills and 25mg ephedrine and I was good to go. I don’t really get wired, but I was feeling focused.
I felt really stiff at the beginning. Chest and back are super sore, so I stretched them out thoroughly, and took my time on the sumo DLs and all the early stuff.
Sumo DL warmup
135 x 5, 5, 5, 5
205 x 4, 4, 4, 4
275 x 3, 3, 3, 3
Standing calf raises
160 x 20
240 x 15
300 x 12, 12, 12
Seated leg curls - I like doing something before squats to get some blood into the legs.
50 x 20
90 x 15
130 x 10
160 x 8
Back squats - Gonna get back to my roots and train a bit heavier for the time being. I think all the volume stuff is hurting more than helping at this point. Squats felt solid until 405, which was a bit heavier than I thought it’d be. No worries.
135 x 8
225 x 6
315 x 4
365 x 4
405 x 4
While squatting, a kid was asking me technique stuff on squats, and I helped him out and showed him sumo deads, among a few other things. He seems grateful, lol.
DB SLDLs (slow negative, no lockout)
90s x 12
115s x 12, 12 - god these sets feel like they take forever!
Leg press (slow negative, no lockout - you know the drill)
2pps x 20
4pps x 12
6pps x 10 drop 5pps x 10 drop 4pps x 10 drop 3pps x 10 drop 2pps x 20 drop 1pps x BURNOUTTTTTTTTT.
Listening to this song during that leg press drop set. Started on the first drop. Enjoy (if you like club music).
