Training has been going pretty well. I was having trouble with the dumbbell clean and press for a while, but I fixed a few things and now I can at least get the competition weight overhead. Frame carry I’m a little worried about. I’m not quite at the competition weight using farmer’s yet, but then I’ve heard farmer’s walks are harder than frame carries.
Also, unfortunately I don’t have a yoke, so I can’t practice that one directly. I’ve at least practiced yoke picks with the comp weight using a barbell and practiced walking through the rack to get a feel for it. Feeling good on all the other events, except maybe car squat as I really have no idea what to expect there. Really my only goals are to have fun and not bomb out on anything, so we’ll see how that goes! lol
That’s good to hear! I haven’t had a chance to try a frame carry but, we have farmers handles so, hopefully if I can handle competition weights on the handles the frame will be okay lol. We had a chance to use a yoke once and it sucks lol. I’m scared of the car squat honestly. 46" pick height is gonna be awful for me lol. I’m sure we will do fine!

Well, if you see a tall, ugly, bearded guy that doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing, that’ll be me lol.
Ok, Mr. I Don’t Know What I’m Doing, who just won first place in his division.
Congrats again! It was great to meet you guys. Keep me posted if you all do any more competitions in the area.
Haha! I was just lucky, Scuba!
It was nice to meet you! We may try to come back to it next year but, if I’m going to try to go open HW then, I have my work cut out for me! You did a great job, man. We will only improve from here! Keep it touch, man.
