some fat man pullups. also mixed up some bar only gm’s. I think my deadlift drama is mostly fear laced hesitation.
i have a very strong lower back for fucks sakes!! and hamstrings!! why am i being a dweeb?! so anyways maybe I’m mixing up my signals.maybe a stretch or just a muscle slowly waking up is what i’m confusing with pain or lack of go power. Also i might need to warmup. I never used to really warm up for deads, just do a few singles as i load up the bar then whammo. i’ll try some cardio for a few mins to get me all electrified and warm.
what ev. I believe i have just GOT to get more movement in, even if its one set of anything every day or twice a day. I know i can do it,I know I have the ability, but this scared of shit stuff is ridiculous!
Those numbers look great to me! But i hear ya Burtus. You’ll get back into the swing of things - you have been a bit out of practice! Give it a week or so to get back into the mix
yeah, you will get back into it. could the cold weather have something to do with your maybe needing a bit of a warm-up? i dunno… i’d be pretty stoked if I could deadlift that - but i know your standards are higher

it seems everyone is learning to oly lift. ran into yet another newby at my 24hr fitness. i just warmed up doing some snatch attempts,bar only, trying still to get it right.

the bar still kicks my ass on oly stuff… the women’s bar, even (15kg). glad you didn’t have a sucky time deadlifting. hopefully things will feel better and you will get confidence back with that soon.

I wish they had lighter bumper plates at my gym. i’m glad they have anything but they start at 10kg and i can’t do them! I think trying to get that damn snatch at the right level as in not just a bar on the floor would help. I need to get someone with a circular saw to make wood baby plates. BLEH!
today’s stuff made it absolutely clear that i’m no where near ready for a meet. I have probs! But its not a big deal. Just will give me something to do…ALLL summer…maybe fall…
i warmed up a bit squatting the bar which felt awesome of course because its only 45#.
popped up 135–STIFFFFFFwierdddd…ouw…noooooo. I say ok, maybe i just need to workout that first rep, the next will be ok did 5. nope. they looked like shit, felt like shit. I looked like i was trying to get into the fetal position instead of shit up. I feel alright now, but it was painful to do them.
so i’m not doing regular squats. I will start from scratch (that’s going to be number 3 or 4 for relearning squats) come the time I’m ready to do them again.
So my back hates them and that’s ok. I’ve been cheating on normal squats for years…fronties and overheads and Bulgarians fell fine so word:P PEACE OUT SQUATS.

Aww shit. Sorry your back is keeping you from squatting. But, you seem, otherwise, like you’re in a good space and I’m happy to read that. And as you say you’ve still got fronties, overheads, and go go bulgarians!

My gym has that kind. The lighter grey parts are moveable but precisely where they are in the pic sets a bar at the right height. I put one under each end of the bar (the steppers length-wise). The risers that Kimba uses - I think that two of them with the platform on top sets the bar at the right height, too.
I was using wooden blocks (in my vids) but have moved to the steppers. I think they are better because they have some ‘give’ so if I drop a bar on them with little metal plates on it the bar is less likely to be bent than if it hits the wood hard and then bounces off onto the floor (as tends to happen).
I’ll be sure to use the steppers in my next vid so you can check out the setup.

kimba I dunno what I’m not really sure. Plan for now is go day by day, see how I feel. Also spread out my wt lifting days, do something everyday however. Benching is ok, cardio too. I just get painfully stiff and clenched up it seems if I don’t keep moving. I’m trying to clean up my act significantly diet wise so i can at least feel better about that.
OH! and I just got some homeopathic spray stuff–I’ll try anything. Some concoction that you spray under your tongue a few times a day. I’m game!
