Thanks DZ!

Just finished night shift this morning… thankfully that is over. Off for a few days now.

Had a frickin’ fantastic day at the gym yesterday… had a smile on my face all night… check it out!!

JAN 25TH WEEK 9- COAN/ PHILLIPI

DEADLIFT (supposed to be 525x1)
bar x warmup
135x10
225x5
315x3
(put belt on)
405x1
495x1 (easy!!)
525x1 (PR 10 lbs- still pretty easy!)
545x1 (PR 30 lbs- wtf?!.. awesome!)

I still had alot left in me after the 545 pull… I was considering going to 565 or 585… but didn’t want to jump too fast.
I am ecstatic… 600 will be mine very shortly… and I was hoping to hit that by August. Hmmm… perhaps 700 by August? That would be awesome!

SPEED DEADLIFT
405x 2 sets of 3

POWER SHRUGS
405x5
405x8

STIFF LEG DEADLIFT
365x 2 sets of 5 (PR weight)

ABS
buncha cable crunches and side crunches off of a hyper bench for a bunch.

After following the program very closely for the last 2 months… I deviated a bit after having some great lifts.

I feel great!

Bunzilla destroys Tokyo and for the finale, cooks and eats Mothra.

Nice lifting Bun. There’s more to come, I’m sure.

Great pull!! No wrist straps needed either.

genuine deadlift monster.

with a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound he pulls the city’s high-tension wires down
(bunzilla)
Helpless people on subway trains scream to god as he looks in on them
(bunzilla)
Oh NO, they say he’s got to go, Oh No BUNZILLA.
Oh NO, there goes Tokyo, Oh No BUNZILLA.

The real words to the blue oyster cult song…
ol

Thanks guys!
I am real happy… and no straps required or used for the whole freakin’ workout!

I finally got a rosin bag (not allowed to use chalk in my gym) and used that for the first time… but I have also been working on my grip alot lately… so, could be either one of those things or a combination of both.

The nice thing… when I pulled the PR… my grips was not an issue. I actually stood there holding the weight for a good 10 seconds smiling like an idiot… savouring the experience!

Then… I ate a train box car, licked a cute little geisha girl and had a couple of beers with King Kong… RAAAARRRR! lol!

The race to 600 is on. I pulled 540 recently but it went up real hard.

Race to 600! Game on! Meat’s protege “Joweee” (pronounced “Joey”) and I are currently engaged in a torrid race (yeah… right!) to the 600 lb pinnacle. Climb on board!

Should be fun. How much does joweee deadlift?

wow, Im racing to 450. Maybe I can load plates for you guys and dream…

Can anyone play? Of course it has to be age and IQ rated which means lifting the bar equals 600 for me. Actually, I’m going to take a shot at 535 next week. Do I get a geisha to lick if I reach 600? There was this time on R&R in Yokohoma that…never mind. Great numbers you’re putting up Bunny.

The more the merrier Hel! Hel haven’t you deadlifted 600+ in the past? Please finish the Yokohoma story sometime.

Sure Hel… come on in the sandbox!

And I agree with Eco… gotta hear the rest of the Yokohoma story sometime!

Had a quick one tonight… had to pick up the father-in-law, he no longer drives due to medical reasons. But here is tonights festivities…

Eco, went 655 the other day. The other day was about 25 years ago. Doesn’t count anymore. Be interesting to see what I can get back to. So far been very unscientific. Deadlift, stiff leg deadlift. Going to try and incorporated some of the things I’m learning here. Pin lifts, speed deadlifts, etc. Keep posting Bunny, good info.

I am betting you can get back to that, old age and treachery will beat youth and exuberance everytime!

Speaking of which… anyone seen the new Clint Eastwood movie… Gran Torino yet?

comment and a question. comment: nice workout. what is your current bench goal?

question: I notice after you “top out” you hit a higher rep set at a lower weight. I see that alot. I dont do it. yet. What is the training affect of this down set? Also, what kind of guidelines do you use in terms of the load or the reps or either or both? tryn to learn sommint hear.
Thanks
