I attended my FIRST CLASS tonight with an instructor who claims to come from the same organization that trained Tony Jaa in Ong Bak. So it was my first class. The abilities of the fighters varied from expert to beginner. It was a class that taught you thai culture of fighting, names of moves in thai as well as technique for all levels. I was the only female and the guys were ranging from teens to thirties. So we did a quick warm up and then went right into kicking each other. FUCK YEAH! Well, what surprised me a bit was that I was actually afraid of hurting these nice people…I know I have no skills…but I felt like, hmm, maybe I shouldnt hit them too hard because what if they dont block me and I do end up kicking them in the head…I got rid of these feeling when I was practicing a combo with the instructors asssitant (he will go to Thailand to fight next week). He was really cool, and made me feel okay about giving it. The coolest thing was that I dont think they treated me any differently for being a girl. The students were helpful to me as a beginner, patient, instructive, and they gave it. I had never fought (while sober in a gym) ever but GODDAMN THAT’S FUN! I think I will go the sparring sesh tomorrow after my workout to watch and maybe learn a little. Also I should thank beast27195 here for sending me some MMA tickets last month… I think I have more respect for the art of Muay Thai than for the phenomenon of MMA, but without having experienced some front row moments at the MMA match, I probably would have never gotten interested in technical fighting.

ps if you go to these classes, can I recommend that you cut/file your fucking toe nails?! My forearms were bloody from blocking one retard with fucking unkept toe nails.

Training looks good and I can totally imagine you doing muay thai! Gross about the toenail dude. My bf is a former TKD champ, so I appreciate martial arts. Now he’s old(er) and retired, but he could still roundhouse me in the head if I get stupid.

As far as GH is concerned, I’m years away from needing that stuff (32 in a couple months) but I’d totally consider it in the future. My man has dabbled in it with good results. Why not stay young forever (at least in some ways.)

*best motivation i’ve ever seen is to take a picture of your naked ass and put it up everywhere. fridge, computer monitor, kitchen cabinets, bathroom mirror, steering wheel… how many bad food decisions can you make and how many times can you skip the gym when you’re faced with your own unsatisfactory ass?
