If you could have any smart drug prescribed, which would you choose? My doc said he would prescribe Hydergine, Bromocriptine, Desmopressin or Oxytocin. Which is awesome, yet still affordable? I haven’t taken any of these yet, so I am still doing some research. Thanks for any input. Happy Memorial Day!
I’ve had neurotransmitter tests…trust me I am no newbie to this…I have used the neuroscience tests. I was low in GABA and dopamine. But assuming everything is OK and I just want to maximize brain power, what would you guys take? Anyone tried Desmopressin? I have heard Hydergine at a couple of mg does nothing…don’t ya need at least 6 mg?
This is a great thread, staight up.
I’m a college student that’s going to be out of school for the next 3 months and I’m wondering if it’d be worth it to start playing with this stuff now.
I’m questioning it because it seems like you get the best results INITIALLY and also because of the cost. However, I’m currently working as a QC engineer for a surgical design spinal company, a job that requires mostly mindless tasks to be performed but occasionally I have to think.
Would it be worth the cost to start using it now, in day to day life, or should I wait until the heavy courseload?
You already got my thoughts on this TWL; but for those wondering the same.
DMAE has been working great for me for the “long term” taking 1-2g ED first thing in the morning.
Vinpo worked nice for about 2 wks at 20mg ED (spaced 4-6hrs) and then lost it’s efficacy.
Paracetam I like the same as DMAE and stack 1.5g with DMAE in the morning ED. I have heard that other 'racetams work better though.
Moda is nice if you are lucky enough to have a 'script.
Which drugs seem to work best for cognitive learning on a budget? From what I understand Aniracetam and Vinpo seem to be the way to go with this. Thoughts will be appreciated. I’m trying to get that extra edge through my upper level engineering classes where memorization isn’t as helpful.
Does anyone know of a source for aniracetam now? PM me please if you do

How good is vinpocetine?
It’s pretty much one of the only more natural nootropics I haven’t tried. I have heard good things and bad things about it. It seems to get mentioned alot on this thread.
I don’t really like experimenting with different things so close to exam time and go with what I know works, I might try some after to see what effects it has.
Does it work as a stimulant, on memory, or some other way like creativity? and Is it subtle, or very noticable, and what about long term use, does it build up to get a better effect or should you cycle it?
Lots of questions I know! Can’t seem to find much info on it.
Things I am taking at the moment that I find work best for me after trying many things are DMAE Tyrosine Piracetam and Ginkgo. The last two I could probably take or leave, I don’t really notice much if I take them or not, the DMAE and Tyrosine however are good stuff. Also use huperzine a on occasion. I think the DMAE is enouth though for Acetylcholine. Other choline sources I don’t really like.
Any way vinpocetine, worth it?[/quote]
Well read through almost the entire thread and I see vinpo is highly recommended by almost everyone so I decided to get it as it’s so cheap also, not sure why I haven’t thought to try it before.
Anyway been taking it for 3 days now, 10mg x3, can’t really comment on it at the moment as I haven’t really been doing much studying and have been pretty tired in general. But thought I would start now as the effects accumulate from what I have heard on this thread.
So current stack at the moment after narrowing it down from a long list of products I have tried is:-
DMAE - Find this works well, probably my favourite. Didn’t react too well to other choline sources I tried so gave this a try, taking 3 times a day.
Tyrosine - Find this gives a nice alertness/clear head when I am pretty tired and seems to help with motivation, my only concern with it is that it produces melanin in the skin, so not sure of the safety on this with tanning, I am pretty fair skinned. And constantly paranoid about my moles when I take it as I have a lot of them. Am I just being paranoid?
Huperzine A - Take this every now and again, find it good stuff, although I think the DAME is enough for me personally in terms of acetylcholine levels. I have heard mixed things on how this should be taken, some say cycle it and others take it continuously. Also some say you get used to it if it is not cycled and the effects wear off after a while, and some say it builds up too much so you should take a break now and again. Hearing lots of mixed things on it.
Vinpocetine - As mentioned about, only just started it, was originally taking ginkgo so have stopped that now, didn’t notice much from the ginkgo.
Piracetam - Bought a load of this a while ago and still have a bit left, quite cheap for a lot of it, it now seems to be almost impossible to get hold of in the uk nowadays, and the extra shipping costs would cost more than the piractam itself, not not sure if I will bother with this again. I don’t actually notice it doing as much as all the above I mentioned, I can quite easily drop it for a week and notice no difference.
Other things are a big multivitamin with loads of B Vits, makes my piss glow in the dark.
Also caffiene and nicotine - not particularly for nootropic purposes, just always have, wouldn’t mind giving up the nicotine though. I seem to crave it less and less since taking the above sups.

Sorry to hear that. Do you still take it, and was that 20mg every 4-6 hours? I know a lot of guys here [including myself - when I take it] tend to use a fair bit more than 20mg ED. Some even up to 100mg ED spread over three or four doses.

Yherp. I’ve never really given pira a decent shot, and am thinking about it again now I’ve finished uni for the summer. If you could tell me more about your experiences, that’d be great!
Moda is nice if you are lucky enough to have a source.

As far as pira goes, I’ve only stacked it with DMAE so I can’t really say how well it works solo. I’ve taken DMAE solo before and if I had to pick something out it would be that I think that the stack worked for a longer period of time is all. Not sure if there is any science behind it though. I pre=make my morning shake/stack once a week for teh whole week.
metamucil
dmae
pira
leucine
beta alanine
i just put them in small tupperwares and toss it down my throat FIRST thing in the morning.
there is a major difference when i don’t have it in the morning. getting up at 5am without it really isn’t much fun haha.
Feel free to PM me with idea on how to find a source for Moda. Just curious is all, I have access to a hottie with a 'script pad about 4 feet from me now lol
Anyone used Desmopressin? If so, what is the recommended dosage?
My Oxiracetam is going to be here on Monday - Yipee!
I’ll post back here if I get positive results from it.
Currently my study level and cognative function seems to have gotten to an all time high…
Anyone have any sides as yet with any of these:
- Vinpocetine
- Huperzine A
- Dimethylethanolamine
- Modafinil 200mg
The reason why i’m asking: when I take these concurrently at specific times through out the day, to ensure i’m not “peaking” with my bioaccumulative levels; I do fine.
As soon as i take them a little to close together, I get a type of headache that even a Triptan wont scare off!
Any thoughts?
So I just ordered Ani and Power Drive to help me for my intensive anatomy class…any other suggestions?
