Brain Function Boosters

Hawkguy,

I came across a couple of similar programs a while back and to be honest, they weren’t worth the time for me, even if there was no monetary cost involved. But that is just my opinion.

I started taking aniracetam about a week ago. The past couple of days I think I’ve taken it too close to bed because I haven’t been able to sleep at all.

I also got 25g of oxi today. Took a bit less than a quarter tsp to assess and I feel very focused but a bit tired.

Can you combine oxi with Power Drive or Spike?

I combine it with Power Drive all the time. Works great.

I’m gonna try it on Friday but I think I might stick to taking Power Drive after my workout. I ended up getting over that tired feeling and was in the zone for my workout. Felt sort of like the old Spike without the stimulant effect.

Also, whereas I usually stutter a lot when explaining things in the gym I was quite fluent today.

Do you need to cycle DMAE? Any recommended pattern?

I’ve never heard of cycling. It’s not something I use every day so I don’t think it’s an issue.

So apparently I have delayed sleep phase syndrome (stumbled upon this while researching melatonin). I’m thinking I can get modafinil prescribed. I just need to get health insurance back. =/

is increased blood pressure a side effect with brain function boosters? i know increased heart rate is a side.

Hey all, what an excellent thread! I’ve bought both aniracetam and oxiracetam, but the prescribed doses on the label do absolutely nothing for me (750 mg aniracetam; 800mg oxiracetam). Would there be any problems, other than cost, with taking double the dose of these? Any thoughts? Thanks!

which ones? They are many, many, many, MANY … brain booters out there.

That’s a negative on both counts generally speaking.

Only stims usually cause either a BP or HR increase.

sorry im new to this… can we make a list of brain boosters that are stims (like caffeine) and then make a list that arent stims? the reason i ask is that i love caffeine for its brain boosting effects but my blood pressure gets too high when i use it. i believe the blood pressure rise is do to increased anxiety i experience with it.

im going back to school next semester and need all the help i can.

thanks guys!

I myself use it everyday…500 or 600 mgs. It helps me more than anything else I’ve tried. When I need to be extra sharp I add 100 mcgs HupA

Again, DMAE and huperzine work well for me without sides. Choline chloride, choline bitartrate, and CDP choline tend to increase my anxiety and make my heart pound. Oh, and another thing: vinpo, theanine, and gotu kola seem to calm me down while helping me focus…

Wow I have been using piracetam the past 3 days and all I can say is Wow. This stuff is pretty amazing. Took 2400mg and day 1 was great, effects were noticed within a few hours contrary to what the label says.

The bottle suggests 4800-9600mg/day initially for faster results!!! I’m glad I took 3 and not 6. 2400mg on day 1 was plenty for me…

I worked non-stop 8-6 today like it was nothing, made all my meetings. Effects are very similar to adderall except less GI issues and raciness, and maybe slightly less euphoric but still somewhat on its own right. Very impressed so far…

Glad you like it. You might consider adding vinpocetine to work synergistically with the pira.

BBB,

isn’t it important to add a choline source with Pira as well, to avoid depletion? i havnt’ tried it myself, just read that concern on other message boards…

Vitamin B complex also has synergy with vinpo and racetams, and should cover any choline deficiencies.

OK, a question for those of you who are up on this stuff, the bushy one, etc.:

I’m taking the LSAT, and I want to know which supplements you guys recommend.

I plan on taking piracetam – should I take it daily for the two months left before the test?

I plan on taking oxiracetam – should I take it daily, or just when studying extra hard and on test day? (I’d rather do the latter, if that’s an effective method.)

I plan on taking idebenone – is this worthwhile? What should I expect from idebenone?

Anything that will give me a lot of focus without jitteriness is much sought after, as well as anything that will help with the “logic games”. (E.g., Pat sits next to Sue, Rob sits next to Pat but not next to Tim, if Tim is to the right of Sue, Bob is fourth from the left, etc. – if Bob is in seat 4, where does Sue sit?) I’m open to other recommendations (pyritinol comes to mind, if you can clue me in as to what to expect – Google yields little), but I’m really interested in understanding what to expect from the above supplements and HOW to use them!!!

Any first person experiences, particularly positive ones, with the idebenone and the oxiracetam and piracetam are much appreciated.

I really want to know more about idebenone, and I want to know what to expect from using piracetam and oxiracetam, as well as HOW I should use them. (I.e. dosage, daily or non-daily, etc.)

I’ve scoured the group, but I’d appreciate anyone who has already posted relevant info trying to clue me in with a response directly addressed to my interests.

(I’ll just mention that I already take a good “conjugated”(?) DHA-Phosphatidyl Serine supplement, a multivitamin, fish oil, whey, etc., and I exercise, so the basics are indeed covered.)

Thanks in advance! Great forum you’ve got here, by the way!

I find that phenibut has a sudden and great improvement for some reason. I make sure to keep my fat intakes up with olive oil and fish oil, which seems to increase the effectiveness. The vinpo seems to add to the effectiveness, as does the aniracetam. I also added in the U4EA, and it seems to add to the whole deal as well. I’ve been finding that when I go with the aniracetam and oxiracetam stack during studying in the evening I get a mental boost lasts a while and makes sleeping tougher. That’s likely due to the really nice clean mental clarity that I enjoy and want to exploit.

Recently, while taking these and working my ass off for long hours, I had a weekend to myself to sleep and relax. I have never had such peaceful naps and rejuvenating sleep like this. I had nice clear and stimulating dreams that came from the deepest reaches of my imagination. They were vivid, exciting, creative, and awesome! I am able to remember them long into the day and sometimes reflect on the feelings and images trying to put words to them. I also have been making mental connections that I hadn’t previously considered, and articulate ideas in ways I never knew that I could when I instruct my courses (I am currently active duty Military Police teaching people just returning from Iraq on law enforcement duties here in Texas).

Today for example, I had only 4 hours sleep and went into class slightly tired but mentally charged. I called up ideas, examples, and analogies that I never would have pulled off, and even was able to give an energetic delivery that turned dry material into interesting examples.

Now, all this helped me out by bringing me from a mentally exhausted, overworked, overtasked, sleep-deprived,nearly-lethargic 30-year-old to a clear and articulate instructor in a relatively short amount of time (less than a month). I am also taking a challenging staff operations course normally reserved for people several ranks above my own and with far more experience. I use this stuff to give me the extra firepower that I need to accomodate my workload and still have the mental abilities to focus on this class after a long hard day of multi-tasking and stress.

I used the piracetam for a while. Not my personal favorite. Everybody is different so don’t take my opinion to heart. You just gotta tinker around and experiment until you find the magic combination.

I’m just dying to try Modafinil. Talk about expensive! Holy crap. Heard nothing but great things so far too. Anyone here getting it through insurance? Anyone manage to get a script without having narcolepsy? I’m thoroughly intrigued in it’s possibilities. I’m going to combat again soon and do not look forward to those long days of drowsiness, mental fogginess and overall lethargy from that stress and bad food. Any little bit of advantage helps, especially when danger is so imminent and real.

Well, about the modafinil, you know that adrafinil (spelling?) is not regulated in the US, right? Adrafinil is metabolized into modafinil inside of the body, and has identical effects once the metabolism takes place.

You can go online and order it to the US, completely legally.

Thanks for your response, that helps. I’ll think about trying oxiracetam and aniracetam and vinpocetine!

So, just so I understand for sure, you feel an acute response to a dose of aniracetam with oxiracetam? What dose of each would you suggest? Thanks!
