Brain Function Boosters 2.0

I take ginseng & ginkgo.
I was skeptical, but I have found my memory and concentration has improved beyond belief.

I’m surprised it doesn’t get more love on here? only a couple of mentions so far? the two apparently work synergistically, and have many other benefits, such as improved circulation/energy boost-also considering the price and availability,it seems essential to me.

what are your thoughts, people? especially to BBB.

Do you take it? have you tried it? do you think they are overrated? or are you assuming they are a given?

I know BBB has mentioned several times that he uses whatever brand of Vinpo, doesn’t mind cheap prices of Vinpo, but I just wanted to let you guys know I have noticed a huge difference in mental performance with it when switching to LEF’s brand of Vinpocetine.

Yes, its a bit pricey, but I have found it to be much more effective than my old Vitamin Shoppe brand. LEF is a lot like Biotest, in that they stress quality, purity of herbs, even if it means they cost more.

Just take 600mg DMAE and 600-800mg oxiracetam and you’ll find that since you only need to read something once (or maybe twice) for it to be memorised, you save a lot of time.

I’m still sort of unclear on this one, would you mind clarifying something for me?

I found most DMAE supplements are labeled something like “350mg DMAE (130mg of essential DMAE)”

Is it the essential number I should be worried about or the total?

I have never said that I use ‘whatever’ brand of vinpo. I’ve used two brands. Neither was purchased from a ‘vitamine-shoppe’ type establishment. Both worked excellently. “Doesn’t mind cheap prices of vinpo”… what does this mean?

Your implication that the vinpo I use is cheap, is misleading. Vinpo is a cost-effective supplement, end of story.

To be fair to your comments, I haven’t used the LEF brand. But how do you know that they use a different supplier to the one Roweski uses in his products? How does anyone actually know the quality of the supps they purchase? Subjective experience is valid of course, but not empirical obviously.

Given time and money, I would be interested in trying the LEF product, but that is not an option at present. I cannot see that they could be that much more effective, seeing as how the brand I use is highly effective anyway.

Forgive me if I seem grouchy but I wasn’t impressed by your sniping tone.

Eh, who peed in your latte this morning.

Relax, breathe easy. Re-read my post. Wasn’t attacking or putting you down.

I believe most DMAE is 33% active ingredient roughly. I use the larger figure to guide my intake. So when I say “600mg of DMAE”, I mean 200mg actual DMAE roughly.

BBB
Yep, pretty much all of it is around 33% elemental DMAE

I know people say that they can memorize a whole load of info on oxi and ani, i am still yet to try it. But is the memory effects sort of short term like if you where to memorize the info, could you still recall it in a couple of weeks when you haven’t used it since, only for the study session, or does the effects work on memory recall also? So you need to keep taking it?

How significant are the effects on memorization? Part of my studies, or the way I revise involves learning loads of defintions, and lists, would it help with this? Currently I am only taking dmae and vinpo, tried piracetam on several occations, and not convinced it is actually doing anything, so stopped after I ran out, didn’t notice a difference when I stopped either.

Thanks
I have had a good try with Piracetam today and it has worked wonders for me so far (mind you it is the first day). I’m waffling here but the drugs allowing/facilitating better cognition still needs employment of a particular method/structure in your learning. The implications of that for me, with my rote memorising, is that it makes it easier to memorise and recall but I still have to do the job of getting it to my long term memory in the first place. Hope that makes sense!

I am hoping that once the info has entered my long term memory (I am using a fairly intensive method of getting it there), and I revise it regularly, that it will stay regardless of what chemical I used to help me get it there.

Vinpocetine has been my go to supplement for several years now.
2- 10 mg tabs a day works great for me. Three was a little too much for me.

Awesome man. What brand you using

Americannutrition.com now has oxi in stock…just ordered some and can’t wait to try it!

I’ve been using Vinpo a while, about 2-3 months now and I gotta say there’s a noticeable effect on me. I use about 30mg a day. I say about because sometimes I forget the 3rd cap of the day.

I also use DMAE every day, about 500mg once a day, but I might up it to 1g a day split into 2 doses, morning and evening.

I’ve got a 50g tub of Aniracetam but I haven’t really used it, only 2-4 g of it, but I’m thinking of using it again @ 5-600mg a day starting pretty soon.

I just bought a 50g tub of Oxiracetam today as well from Cerebral Nutrition @ Enhanced Minds. I’ve never used Oxi before, but I know I’ll like it because of how highly everyone speaks of it.

I’ll update when I’ve got some info to share.

Thinking of adding creatine for sports reasons. But I have heard that it has nootropic properties, is this true? Only took it many years ago before and wasn’t studying at the time.

I suggest hitting that ani @ 1200mg per day if you really want to impress yourself and confound your intellectual enemies, lol.

BBB
In 1 hit? Or split throughout the day?

I use it. Its so flipping cheap I’m like whatever, if it works great, if not oh well.

Hey guys, I am back for some noop advice and I’m pretty rusty in the studying dept now, lol…

I start physio Aug 31. Haven’t done any noops for ages. Ro’ thanks for your help, and I intend to start going to the EH site and do some blogging etc, but want to post here to get feedback from everyone first.

So, I know by now there have been many revisions, progress, and sorting of all things noop, and I have a decent background ala the first thread where I was the OP. But I would love further assistance at this time.

So physio as you all know rolls on the heels of anatomy which I’ve probably forgotten a boatload of information about by now. I was thinking to get the ball rolling, I should maybe do a “cleansing” with some Centro to clear the old bucket out a bit yeah?

Too bad the Moda is not flowing from a clean source for any of us. For me it was a great addition as many can attest to for focus and reserves chock full of study energy.

Anywho, I will be most appreciative of any and all advice from the brilliant sages of noop here!!

Ciao,
