I definitely notice “it” when using Brain Candy. Its everything an energy drink SHOULD be, but isnt. Mental clarity, the ability to hone in on tasks and in the gym. I was an energy drink a day kinda guy, so the caffeine didnt hit me nearly as hard as it might if you dont drink at least 300mg a day anyway.
I like to use it in 3 day “Super Charges” - Kinda like the section on the hot wheels tracks that speeds the car back up. When you feel yourself losing the effects, hit another 3 day run and I’m back up and running.
Its good stuff. Given the price of other “competitors” its certainly appropriate in that regard… It blows them out of the water like Spike does, but Spike is a much different feeling.
I’m find I’m in a better mood throughout the day and actually WANT to get work done. I even find myself wanting to read on campus in between classes, and I’m not one to read books for pleasure.
I definitly notice a difference in mood. I am not the friendliest person, but with Brain Candy, I seem more cheerful and peope have noticed. Also I can talk faster, like my thoughts become words a lot easier. The flow of thoughts to words is constant and un-interuppted, I noticed this while writing a paper the other week.
I am almost done with my 2 cases. I work in IT. So brain fogginess is the mortal enemy of mine I take Brain Candy at the moment my alarm rings in the morning.
I take a shot, and it does not allow me to go back to sleep.
Unfortunately, it is the only positive effect I can feel. Nothing else.

Well, I’m glad I’m not a quail.
More seriously - without adding how much DMAE decreased the average life span by how much, that information is less than useless. Many studies and practical experience have shown that large quantities of water decrease the average life span of a human being. It’s called drowning. Sorry for the sarcasm by I wanted to illustrate how useless information can be without quantification.

Well decreasing it any is too much for me. I didn’t research the study or anything. I just found it alarming.

You missed about 90% of my point.
Do the quantities typically used decrease it, or is 100 that amount necessary? Many substances have a positive effect in one dose and a negative effect in another.
Does it decrease the lifespan by 1% or 20%?
As I said, this info is USELESS without any kind of quantification.

The study was from 1977.
They were using elderly quail. Seriously, the quail in the experiment were already about 75% through their life expectancy.
The quail were given approximately five times the recommended dosage, in terms of mg per kg.
The study also states that DMAE was shown to extend life expectancy in mice and flies.

I’ve experimented with other nootropics in the past. Piractam, with egg yolks (choline in the raw) has been the only thing noticeable. I got the free sample of Brain Candy in my last order. Fasted for 18 hour before taking. Just took my first shot. I honestly have a buzz. Going to bust out a programming project.
My first dose had me jittery a bit, which subsided within an hour, but felt good the rest of the day. I am on dose #2 and feeling good. A feeling of being at peace and a confident calm about myself. Sometimes I can have a temper that would make the Hulk jealous, but so far I haven’t become green as of yet.
I have gone through my first case of Brain Candy as of today. I think it’s a great product and I truly notice a difference in alertness. It is, however, impossible for me to say I’m in a better mood on it. I think I am more analytical of things in general, whether those be positive or negative. It is a calmer alertness than Spike and I think Spike is superior in terms of being the better pre-workout, then again Biotest readily acknowledges this by saying Candy is more of a brain optimizer than pure stimulant.
I agree with AllTraps on the notion that it seems over-caffeinated. I have never been a huge caffeine junky and I like to take days off from it multiple times a week just to prevent adrenal fatigue though. Some of the people more adjusted to stims might not feel this way and all 300 mg might be needed. Me, personally, I’ll be waiting for the decaff version and I’ll drink it with my coffee, which is not even half the caffeine of a dose of Candy.
In regards to being over caffeinated, aren’t all these types of things (Spike etc) mostly caffeine based at the end of the day, would they do anything if they weren’t ?
Id be interested in a non caffeine version not because i have an issue with it, but i like to drink a few cups a day for various reasons and i don’t like the idea of taking in 1000mgs of the stuff
I think i read somewhere thy have made a caffeine free one? any one know if thats right?

They had some caffeine free ones made, but I think CS said they might not release that version. Either for a while or not at all.
The caffeine is the “feel” part of the equation and acts as the mental alarm in the concoction. Having said that, it is the other ingredients which are the mental elixir. DMAE helps memory, theanine is responsible for the relaxation effect. Caffeine free would likely not make a tired person feel awake. It would, however, help a wide ass awake person think more clearly/calmly.
