Hey, my hunting partner’s got some tiny 18" arms and a Bowflex. Did he get them from the Bowflex? Hell no. He wore out a knee and needed something he could use to stay in shape the best he could while he was recovering from his knee replacement. Guess what? It works. Is it going to get him huge? Of course not. It will help him fight a holding action against atrophy though. I did a couple of the pressing movements on it one day. It provides resistance to movement, so it loads the muscles. It’s better than nothing. Sometimes when you have a life you have to compromise. It sucks that way but not everyone only lives to pump iron and insult everyone else that doesn’t. Some people exercise to improve or maintain their health. It’s better than sweatin’ to the oldies. Oh…so I don’t stand out from the crowd I have to say something profound so, Bowflex sucks!

SO THE GUY COULDNT PUT UP THE “POWER RODS” 275 POUNDS RESISTANCE ,

Anyone that spent more than 10 minutes on this site would know not to post a Bowflex question. And if you are real pnasty, you should have caught on by now that one of the functions of the forum is to have fun. What’s more fun than busting someone’s balls?

to answer the diet question and correct some bad math; the 27lbs of FAT does not sound crazy for an untrained adult male. I think most will agree that if an untrained male started working out hard for six weeks they can gain 6-10lbs of muscle in that six weeks, so even if we take the 6 lbs as the example that would meen you would only need a deficit of 1750 per day to loose 27lbs of fat in six weeks, if the man can gain 10lbs of muscle then he would only need a defict of 1416 per day to loose the 27lbs of FAT in the six weeks. I think the caloric plan darden sets out would work. Before some of you start saying that it can’t be done, do your research. it was a good study by darden, now these were UNTRAINED adult males but I don’t think the results he got are that out of line.

I’d pass on Darden’s diet; it seems too calorically restrictive even for maintainence of lean mass. I’d prefer one of the many diets on this site, depending on specific needs.
