I guess that’s dependent entirely on whether you’re referencing Spain or Mexico.

Mexicans would never call themselves Spanish. I was definitely talking about Spain. hahahahahahahaha. got ya.

That said, of course they are snotty. They are either the elite from which your ancestors fled or peasants whom said elite told stories about crass and crude Americans to keep them from leaving, too.[/quote]
My dad brought us here because he was tired of the government telling the people what to do. He served as a member of the Alpini, an elite mountain warfare branch of the military, only to have the gubment up in his business.
One of the first phrases I learned in English (due to him saying it so much), was “the government stays awake all night, to find a way to screw you during the day.”
Accents suck as a kid, but they are one of the biggest chick magnets as an adult.
A girl in a club once asked me to say something to her in Italian, I told her how slutty she looked in her dress, and she swooned.

I was more in thought as to the idea of the language than the nationalism. Spaniards can barely stomach us for flying over here with our buffed up sense of entitlement and talking shit about them behind their backs, but our pompous accent (generalisation here) at least helps that personality commit to itself, bring someone that’s culturally ignorant over with a San Fernando Valley accent and they’ll be promptly and thoroughly lynched into submission.
Europeans should really go a couple of decades straight without a genocide before doling out advice to others.

I remember going to San Diego to visit my aunt and her immediate family a few years ago, I went a long way exaggerating my “posh” British accent, even subtle phrases like “Oh dreadfully sorry” and “Pardon me ma’am” worked wonders. I guess the downside is that it’s semi-reliant on vast and extensive general knowledge to really reach full potential, referencing actual witty quotes as opposed to those vague, silly Facebook/Tumblr ones everyone is so used to was, I think, my selling point.

If by interesting read you mean: laughable hack job hit peice so laced with partisian bullshit it was hard to stomach the whole thing, I agree.
God that was a waste of my time to read.

Yea but that is a common sentiment throughout Europe.
I have been to the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, and there is a definite snobbish attitude towards America.

That’s gratitude for ya.

Alright, I’ll give you the Southern ones. Sometimes I can find the girly texan accent pretty hot, at least more than a valley girl accent. Far more than a valley girl accent.

S’truth.
I had an English accent till about age 10 and hated it. There was some song out at the time about a soldier in the trenches in WWI that wished he could be home for Christmas and everyone would ask me to sing that.
Then when I was 18 or so I wished I had it back…chicks would have dug it big time.
One time me and a buddy went on a double date with two girls he knew from his high school and on the way to pick them up he should I shoudl put on my old English accent (I can still imitate it) so I did and we told the girls I came to Canada only a year ago etc. and they wouldn’t stop talking to me so after an hour or so my friend says “Hey, can you imitate a Canadian accent and do it all night?”
I caught his drift and did that.

when my friend from switzerland (an italian) came to visit we went to a party and this one girl didn’t even acknowledge our existence, i turned to him and loudly said “va come ci cage sta zoccola appena sente che non parliamo inglese”
the words had barely passed my lips and she was all over us like white on rice.
Yes, because we think of Americans as loud, uncultured and with an over exaggerated gun ho attitude to everything.

Having said that, I think the majority of the world loves American culture lol
Our modern day world would probably be unrecognisable if it wasn’t for you guys!

I’m not a ‘truther’ by any means but I am wondering about something.
He shot himself in throat right? If that’s the case, why is there a photo of him climbing out of the boat looking completely unharmed?
I don’t get it.

LOL no - but there are definitely people on my FB who are. Here’s some of the shit I have to contend with:
"My thoughts? the brothers are patsies, this is part of a government agenda (btw, while everyone was ‘watching the takedown’ congress passed CISPA) and lets sit back and watch how they justify invading Iran or N.Korea with this… probably Iran, I think they’re still too afraid of NK at this time. I still chuckle bitterly at how the Iraq war started, I mean, they’re just not trying anymore!
I can’t see how they made the jump from Afghanistan to Iraq, but they don’t have to make that connection, the majority buys it hook, line and sinker when they believe men in caves hate 'Murica and our freedoms! and what not… In any case the governor of New York is already calling in for allowing drones to patrol the skies now, and the complete lockdown of the Boston area was a straight up assault on 4th ammendment rights… oh hell, I could go on, but the bottom line is if you believe your government wouldn’t use you as collateral damage, use a situation to manipulate you through their bought and paid for media outlets to disolve your rights from under your nose, well, I have a bridge I can sell you."
