Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

This movie was THE SHIT! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. If you haven’t seen the first one, you’re wrong. Go see the first one, then watch this one. I would post a pic, however, the internet out here is shit.

I agree, saw it when it 1st came out, awesome movie, though if you didnt see the 1st one I could see it not being quite as good.

I thought a lot of the movie felt forced. It was still pretty funny and a decent movie, I’ll be buying it soon I think.

I agree with Jason Lee’s first point. I stopped watching less than halfway through. Willem Dafoe made the first one and the second one was mediocre at best without him.

I thought it was a festering pile of irish shite…i cant believe I waited 10 years and they gave me that. It is an absolute injustice to the first one

Edit: spelling & grammar

i wanted to say what vtballa said but didn’t want to make op feel bad.

X2

definitely seemed forced as well. The first was a lot better.

Federalist,

I am a pretty big boy. I can handle disagreement. And I’ll admit that yes, at times, it did feel a lil forced. It didn’t hit me until I woke up this morning that it has been ten years. Hard to get back in that same groove, I imagine. But it was still a very entertaining movie.

SPOILER ALERT

As for Willem Dafoe, you need to watch the entire movie.

This. I really think that if they hadn’t dicked around so long in making the second one, it would have been much better. I remember hearing about the sequel from pretty much the time the first movie gained all its mainstream popularity (wanna say around 2002 or so). The groove just wasn’t there.

And is it just me, or have the brothers not aged gracefully at all? I mean, I know 10 years is a long time and all, but christ, they didn’t look like they were capable of even bending over to pick up a weapon!

Yeah, time has definitely taken a toll on the brothers. You could really see it in Sean Patrick Flannery’s face. I really liked the story of their father. The kid they got to play him was definitely on point. Getting back on topic, though, I hope they prepare a bit better for the next one, ie-get in shape.

i liked the first one A LOT better

this probably has been talked about on the boards before, but here is the documentary about the Boondocks writer/director’s downward spiral called “Overnight” :

“A documentary about the rise and fall of filmmaker Troy Duffy. An aspiring writer-director who got the dream of a lifetime when he sold a script to Miramax as his first feature to direct. But beneath the seemingly happy deal that made Duffy the man of the hour, was an arrogant egomaniac whose ambitions alienated friends, and burned bridges in the film industry. Overnight is a movie about how one director ultimately ruins a promising career that could have been from an overnight success” (IMDB)

As an Irishman, watching the first one was both cringworthy and infuriating. How could they cast actors that couldn’t put on any bit of an Irish accent whatsoever to play two fucking Irish men??They sound RETARDED.FUCKING RETARDED.Da daaaa da daa da teetly tee te tee.For fuck sake.Is it the same shit actors in the second one??

I give the first one a 7, and I give the second one a 4. It was watchable, but barely.

haha to us Americans, it all sounds the same. At least it wasn’t Brad Pitt in that one awful movie where he tried to play an Irishman.

My oldest brother convinced me to buy the first one without my ever having watched it. I’ve started it at least 5 times but ended up falling asleep or leaving to do something else every time. What I’ve seen has been alright, but I don’t understand the cult following this movie has. It’s decent at best, and at worst hokey and forced, like it’s trying too hard to be awesome.

I saw the commercial and was going - what kinda horseshit is this? I got pissed at the commercial! 2 dickwads praying in Latin as they’re about to shoot someone and assholes with guns in each hand flying thru the air.

Maybe it’s just me but I like movies that are realistic.

I know what your getting at but come on bro its a movie. i like realistic movies and sometimes i want to watch a Blade type of movie to escape reality. As someone from MA i felt it was my duty to watch this film which has a def cult following. This movie was a lot funnier than the first and a lot more lighthearted i felt. maybe not as good as the original but its def. watchable as i was entertained.

Of course those of you that loved the first one would love the second one. It was the exact same movie with different actors. Sucked balls and totally not worth the wait.

X2

One of the most overrated films I have ever seen.
