My brother was asking me if I was familiar with any books on powerlifting. Not how to devise programs per say, but more of a technical manual. He’s been training for about 10 years now, and just received his doctorate in Physical Therapy. I imagine he’s trying to expand his reference library as well as his own knowledge as well. Any thoughts?
Science and Practice of Strength Training by Zatsiorksi will give easy background for a lot of the different programs out there, although it is not powerlifting specific.
Well, I ordered Pavel’s ‘Beyond Bodybuilding’ for myself, and actually got a free E-Book by Staley,… probably bring it over to Kinko’s to print out,… can’t read hundreds of pages on a computer screen. I used to train around a lot of Powerlifters when I was younger, and it seems that I’ve managed to keep a lot of my density and thickness even though I barely push heavy weights at all anymore (too many nagging injuries).

Starting Strength by Mark Ripptoe is widely accredited as being the number one manual for teaching the basic powerlifts. And it IS as good as everyone says…
