bro I’m not wondering around for a sense of purpose I have wanted to enlist since I was a child, I fell in love with bodybuilding when I was 16 and never thought about any of how bodybuilding would work with the military until recently because I’m at the point where I’m ready to enlist now. I’m not relying on “half-hearted posts” I have went from 141 pounds at 6”2 to 240 pounds within a few years of training with no one’s help but myself I’m not trying to be annoying or rely on anyone’s posts I just thought this is what the damn website was for
how old are you?
Have you ever considered speaking to a professional about your relationship with food?
Bro this literally has nothing to do with food
Are you sure?
I’m confused is this not a bodybuilding forum how does wanting to be able to cook my food and count my macros correlate to me having an eating disorder ?
I never said you had an eating disorder
Let’s assume you can’t have two top priorities (as that’s an oxymoron): do you want to be in the military or do you want to do PEDs?
In any case, David Henry did ok.
Right. It has to do with your state of mind.
You avoid accountability at all costs and either snap or ignore anyone who puts the onus back on you.
You don’t see it because you view everyone as attacking you and it hurts your fragile fuckin ego. If you got over that shit, you’d realize that everyone here is actually trying to help you, but you make it impossible to do so when you dont answer questions and dont take accountability for your shit.
I asked you how old you were because you claimed:
And I’m wondering how many years its been since you’ve been able to do the thing you’ve wanted to do.
I’m also wanting to know why you waited so long, and why you’re here asking questions about it instead of finding the answers yourself.
Mostly because I believe you’re not being honest in your answer or motivations.
I’m calling you out on your shit because I literally was you (as I noted in another one of your threads you bailed on) and it’s what I needed when I was acting the way you are acting now.
I can see it because I used to be it.
I cooked in my barracks room… Even had a Wok. No shit
Hot plate and a foreman grill for me!
I’d do the boil in bag rice and a couple chicken breasts multiple times a day
Hot plate. Small boiler.
Did you take steroids in the military? Back then wouldn’t they have had designer steroids like MSTEN etc that couldn’t be detected?
And isn’t the penalty for taking AAS in the army (if caught) the possibility of genuine criminal record? Not prison time…. but easily something that will stick on your record forever. I know in Australia if you are caught taking so much as cannabis in the military (and not current use, just in urine) it’s a criminal record… forever.
My friend became extremely depressed in the army (during covid, where they isolated soldiers in rooms where each soldier couldn’t even talk to one another for months) and he started smoking pot in effort to try get dishonourably discharged. To quote him “I was harming myself, I just wanted out by any means, but my contract wasn’t up. I wasn’t thinking clearly”.
To be clear, this was incredibly stupid of him as if he WAS caught, he would have had a criminal record which forever causes problems with travelling out of the country, future employment etc. If he was down that bad, he should have sought therapy, which is frowned upon in the military here and he would have lost clearance and eventually been kicked out.
In Australia they also urine test for steroids.. EVERY soldier… randomly… If America is the same as of 2025 you are fucked if you are caught… which you WILL be if it’s the same testing regime we use. The penalties here for using steroids would be far worse relative to smoking pot. I think in Aus (which arguably has some of the strictest steroid laws in the world) you might actually be looking at prison time. Also arguably the strictest western country in the world to get on TRT.
I knew someone who had a testosterone level of 50ng/dl (castrate level) and the doctors were STILL fucking him around with the TRT. They put him on clomiphene which of course didn’t work when you are THAT low (without any history of prior AAS use). I told him to go private, which he did.
No and i dont know.
Theres a 0% chance id risk it in the military. Get caught once and have a permanent stain on your record that hits about as hard as a felony conviction, just for some muscle? Hell nah.
People use PEDs all the time in the military. Starting off in basic you are going to have to come off cycle, but half-life will still be in your system so you should be good depending on a lot of other factors i.e. diet, discipline, fitness etc. Yes, there is drug testing in basic, aka (boot camp, bmt) but the military doesn’t necessarily check for PEDS even after you finish basic.
The only way you can busted for PEDs in the military if you go from 190 lbs starting weight at your first command and in 5 months you are at 240 lbs. That jump could cause some side eye which could lead to suspicion which leads to you being singled out and tested specifically for higher-than-normal test levels. The cost for the drug specific test for testosterone is very expensive and have to be approved by your Commanding Officer.
Another scenario, so in the military you have annual health check-ups which include dental exams etc., which requires bp to be taken or your vitals, if they come back super wonky because you haven’t been regulating your side effects then that will prompt medical to see you more until they can figure out why your labs or bp is so high.
As far as the diet you can still be lean as FUCK eating at the Galley or the DFAC, or eating meals prepared in your microwave. It’s all about being mindful of your macros and micros, and keeping your protein intake high, but that’s for another discussion. BTW, 20 years retired Navy, with a medical and physical therapy background and avid iron warrior!
So recap, unless suspected, mange your gainz, manage your sides, know what you are putting in your body and you will be GTG!!
Do you know what is tested for in the random urinalysis tests they pull every month?
Most basic ones check T:E ratios and flag you based on that, from my knowledge.
- THC, CBD, DELTA -8
- Cocaine
- Opiates/Opiods (Heroin and its metabolite, 6-MAM)
- Codeine
- Morphine
- Oxycodone
- Hydrocodone
- Fentanyl
- Benzodiazepines (Depressants)
- Spice or K2
- LSD
- Psychoactive compounds such as Psilocybin and its metabolite psilocin
- Bath salts
Also, just a side note if you get anything prescribe from your doctor when you sign following your UA there’s a section for you to write (SMR) meaning see medical record.
I am not in the military, but I have friends who are.
From what I understand, at least in Australia, the testing is done at random but often people are singled out of suspicion. My friend who was rule abiding but firmly average as a soldier was tested once to twice per year.
From what I understood there was a LOT of drug use that went on in the military amongst the lower ranks, the vast majority never got caught because many rec drugs are out of your system within days. If you get the weekend off, party on Friday and come back Monday they either have to test you Monday (even then good chance you come back clean) or you are off the hook entirely.
PED’s are different, and stick around for weeks, months or years (deca, EQ). A large panel drug test isn’t exactly cheap, a PED test is even more expensive.
