Bodybuilding: Drugs, Money, Prostitutes

I’d say about 95% of that article is bullshit.

I know where this dude is coming from starting this thread…Its a typical good side/bad side type of thing, most shit has it in some way or another and bodybuilding certainly ain’t no different!

It was disturbing! I hope your right though.

I don’t know where I’m going with this.

But theres a really fucked up side of bodybuilding that I hate.

Gay prostitutes.
X/Meth/Cocaine
The bullshit supplement industry.
The outlandish venice beach lifestyle.
Jail time.

Some of this shit is just ridiculous. I don’t have a problem with steroid use, but I don’t like it when prostitution, drugs and dudes getting busted left and right is part of the bodybuilding “scene”.

Read around for a while on Craig Titus, Dan Duchaine, Joe Weider and the supplement industry (start with EAS and Met-Rx) and you’ll begin to catch a glimpse of how friggin nasty our sport is when you can see past what it bills itself as.

Any links?
what sort of stuff about Met-Rx and EAS?
I thought Met-Rx had a good rep?
No?

Excellent post. You really do have him in a corner on this one, asking all the tough questions and what not. Just one thing, Was your post really so witty that it required you to take 8 months to think it up?

How are gay guys on some beach or whatever that want to get big and do drugs related to professional bodybuilding?

Anyone ever try to work out on X?

lol

how is putting on oil and standing on stage in a thong gay ?

So what if someone is turning tricks for money? These are people we are talking about, and people make all kinds of choices.

Anyone ever try to work out on X…?

…ON WEED!?

Why is that article so shocking? It’s a drug fueled sex party, they happen all the time and they’re certainly not exclusive to bodybuilders.

Or is it only shocking because gasp some guys like to suck dick?

Example, Art Atwood was busted, and he was either selling or using ecstacy.

I realize this is month’s old but what a shitty argument.

Oh no someone was doing X! And we all know that all people doing drugs are bodybuilders…oh no wait…speed is very common among top CEO’s…X is used by a lot of teenagers who certainly aren’t bodybuilders…and well possibly 90% of America has tried weed.

The whole “darkside” of bodybuilding is a load of crap IMO. Geez if we consider homosexuals and drug users as the darkside than every industry has a dark side because there are both of those types of people in every industry.

lol@ the article. it would be cool if it was just guy on girl/ girl on girl orgy action. but that homo shit is not cool.

i dont believe its true either. dude named no names, fuck him. liar liar pants on fire.

I didn’t think I was being particularly ambiguous before.

The venice beach scene is full of guys trying to get big, with a sugar-daddy trading massages for money, or selling their assholes out on the town to support their habit.

Its really hard to speak in depth about this, given that I’ve only been out there twice, but it was really apparent that there was some very gimpy shit going on.

Ugh,Your kidding…thats just way to gross. I thought the whole point of lifting weights was to look good=crushing pussy. I guess Californian BB are a whole different breeds huh? I guess that explains the Bear on the state flag.[/quote]

Californians in general are a different breed. BBers included.

Would the 5% accuracy be in regards to cocaine use, WhiteFlash?

haha, had to.

This topic should be ended. It does nothing but promote what your trying to stop. The best thing to do against evil forces is to ignore them and dont feed into them.

It was not supposed to be ‘witty’ or ‘asking tough questions’.
I think it was clear to everyone else,
as no-one else has commented in such a way as you have,
that I have only just come across this article,
having used the search function looking for something else.

The title caught my eye,
and the only thing found interesting from his post,
was the mention of these supplement companies.
I have heard a few things about EAS,but not Met-Rx.

Met-Rx Creatine was the first one I used,so I may be biased,

I found it to not be the cheapest, but seemed good quality and there seemed to be better results from theirs than some other brands I have used, despite reading on here that all creatine is the same-although I believe the inference in said articles was that Creatine Monohydrate is just as effective,

If not more so,than, say,Creatine Ethyl Ester (But maybe quality control/sourcing/integrity is a factor)
But no,thanks for your input,
thans for the links I asked for,
It really helped,

and you have really helped to dispel my despair at many internet forums being simply a pissing match of over-inflated egos and ‘internet tough guys’ who say shit they would never say in real life face-to-face.

The quality of the forums on T-Nation is such that I have had many good experiences, and seen many good and helpful responses to people’s queries.

Then there are the total dregs,
who clutter this forum like cancerous cells, offering nothing but derision.
You are in the latter category.
I hope this response was more eloquent.

Ignoring evil doesn’t stop it. It allows it to fester and grow. The only way to stop it is to do something about it.

Gay orgies aren’t evil, whatever evil is supposed to mean. They are affecting me this much puts thumb and index finger close to indicate a minimal distance

I wasn’t talking about gay orgies. I was just commenting on his perception of evil. Certain things are evil, some other things are just wrong and immoral.
