Bodybuilding and Fight Club

Really? And here I was thinking it was plainly because it was a tale so boorish, childish and hamfisted as its target audience.

Learn and live!

How many books you had published?
I ‘don’t had’ any books published, I have absolutely no interest in pursuing a career in fiction.
Hope you don’t think that makes getting published any harder though, as absolutely EVERYONE can get ‘published’, especially in modern days.

Unless you want to argue ‘he sold more so he gud’, then lol.

Hey guys! Why can’t a book be about things I like???

Because no self respecting publisher would put out a book about the ins and outs of child molestation…

Fight Club? A work of art?

Middle class low cultural capital white men… gotta love’em.
Listen you pretentious fuckstick, it’s far from my favorite novel of all time. But it was a work of art in it’s own right and was very beautiful in its simplicity. It got a bad rap because of the dumb people who liked the movie for the fight scenes.

So… you can fuck off.
Just to let you guys know. Want2bemorebro has established a reputation here as a troll. Whether he actually believes half of what he posts is a mystery, but what is certain is that a discussion with him can only go south.

No, he doesn’t believe it. As a noob he behaved like he already had an account here. His snowflake world-view is reminiscent of a latter-day Nominal Prospect, just more contradictory. For example, after his rant about male body image, he SHOULD have been all over the OP’s suggestion to sub bodybuilding for fighting had he TRULY meant what he said in that thread.

Instead, he defaulted to the tried-and-trusted “me vs. the world” schtick. Talking of alternate accounts and not believing what you post, the OP and Terrax are the same guy.

Your criteria, from what I can ascertain

 • Two tits
 • 1 hole
 • Pulse.

“Live and learn” moron.

I should have stood for a hamfisted replacement for an already hamfisted child’s tale?

I behaved like I had an account here? You mean, because I knew who Professor X is? The same guy who has been ridiculed via meme throughout bb.com, 4chan’s fit, elitefts and youtube videos?

And alternate accounts? Have any mod cross check my account with ‘Nominal Prospect’ or whoever the fuck you want to.

All I see is ‘BAAAAAW, I DISAGREE WITH HIM, TROLL’

? I haven’t even posted in this thread until now so why is my name coming up from you so often?

You spend way too much time focusing on me. That is strange…but one thing it is NOT is “new”.

No dude I understand the story. I’ve had many a drunken discussion over it with friends. I just think that the messages could be communicated equally well if the club had been weightlifting focused, and thought it would be interesting to bring up here considering this is a bodybuilding website.
No, it could not.

Most people are cowards and lets face it courage very often, if not always, begins with physical courage.

That in turn consists in large part of the knowledge that is does not hurt that bad and that you get over physical pain rather quickly. And of course there is the experience that other people hurt just as bad as you do if you dish it out.

A lot of that BB cannot teach.

You need someone right in front of you willing to hurt you to get his way.

What else?

Also, what is your attitude if not middle class half educated snobbery?

I never said you WERE Nominal Prospect; I said you reminded me of him - in other words, another crud-mouthed kid with delusions of grandeur and a snowflake complex driving his opinions. And yeah, you’ve held an account here before. It goes beyond just knowing who Professor X is; your interactions with him were highly personal and can’t be explained away by lurking.

So you ARE a poster who has directly interacted with X in the past and failed. You haven’t been here long enough to cultivate that level of disdain for one person (although you look down at everyone, you have a special kind of vitriol reserved for X). In the unlikely event that I’m wrong, it concerns me that someone who claims to have never been on this site before can become so emotionally invested in the posts and persona of someone who was previously only known to them through memes and Youtube vids.

You decide which it is.

No, snowflake. If you weren’t just being contrarian for the sake of it, you would have focused your critical crosshairs on a failed attempt to improve a story you already regard as the work of a “hack”…not made some vague pseudo-intellectual dribblings about white middle-class wish fulfillment.

Emotionally invested?
Get over yourself, kid. You’re the ones falling around me crying everytime I post an opinion, not vice versa.

There were already several pages of people calling OP an idiot by the time I got here; and Boloniuhk is more deserving of any criticism.

“Kid”? LOL. I’m older than you by quite some margin, which makes you the kid in this situation. You are right about one thing, though: people DO fall around you crying every time you post an opinion…weeping tears of laughter.

My bad. I can see now that you’re more than qualified to talk Boloniuhks. We need young, fearless trailblazers like you to lead the way to enlightenment.

Note to self: must re-read Buck Boloniuhk’s Flight Club and watch the movie adaptation starring Chad Schmidt and Fred Horton. I’ll do my best not to read into story too much, and just enjoy it as a tale of culture-starved middle class white dudes playing hookey from work early to beat each other to a bloody pulp.

Nothing whatsover to do with male emasculation in society -at all. Bob losing his nuts to cancer & growing bitch tits isn’t a literal extension of that: he’s just a meathead who took steroids and paid the price. Bad steroids!
