Body Hair-Shaving and Waxing

My advice to you as a hairy guy is just live with having body hair. Shave bad spots (back, shoulders, etc.) and trim the chest. You can also trim your legs if they are super hairy. If you’re like me, you think women won’t like it. I have actually found that more women prefer men with hair then men without. It seems like women equate hair to manhood, and hairless to boyhood.

Cause it’s true. We are men. We’re supposed to have hair. I can understand trimming areas if you’re really shaggy. But unless you’re competing, shaving and waxing until you’re hairless as a woman makes no sense to me. Though I have heard the new Norelco is an excellent device. I think there’s an attachment to slice your balls off once you’ve removed every trace of body hair and masculinity from your body.
lol…

I’m a hairy guy. Do yourself a favor and just keep the hair man. Everyone, even those guys who have been hairless their whole lives have to come to terms with it sooner or later. My buddies always used to make fun of me in high school, and now they’re all having to eat their words. If you’re worried about a girl not liking it, just remember that there’s no going back once you’re both naked and locked in a room, car, porta-potty, etc.

ROFLMAO! Good one and excellent point made!

honestly to the original poster: chill out…dont take it so seriously…dont be so self concious…whats that saying only… if you knew how much people thought about you, you would know how little they do…or something like that…I wish someone told me that when I was younger…or maybe somebody did, and I didnt listen…
How’s that old saying go? During your 20’s you’re worried about what people think about you. 30’s you’re getting over what people think about you. Then in your 40’s, you realize they were never thinking about you in the first place.

Don’t worry about it man, you don’t have to look like an unkept ape. Of course I’m more of a trimmer than a shaver, but whatever floats your boat. I mean, what are you afraid people are gonna think if you anyway??

Dude, do whatever the fuck you want, but make sure you’re doing it for yourself and not for someone’s opinion.

True.

I used to shave my legs when I cycled, and raced. I got alot of shit for it, except from this one girl, who called me “sexy legs.” I didnt care though, I liked it and it was functional.

Functional shaving debate, anyone?

For all you that need to shave every day, or even every week… SUCKERS!!! When I was a kid I remember all my friends had cool goaties and stuff, but my fascial hair was minimal. To give you an idea I’m 29 and shave the goatie area once a week, and it’s totally acceptable even for work. The “beard area” of what little grows is shaved twice a week. HA!

As far as body hair goes, I used to shave the whole body once a week. But now I use one of those batterie shavers that can go under water. Best shit ever. I would say I do one half of my body one day and the other half the other, every 6 WEEKS! (let’s out a lound Gimminy Glick laugh) If only I could get some pubes to grow… Kidding, makes me think of that south park episode when Cartman buys those pubes from Scott Taylorman…

Think of all the pro atheletes that shave. Does anyone call Lance Armstrong a pansy for shaving or give him funny looks? NO! Does anyone make fun of Ronnie Coleman or Flex Wheeler for shaving? Hell NO! Dont’ worry about what others say or think.

Also, what do you guys with hairy backs do to remedy this embarrassing situation?

There is a reason I chose this nickname.

I get my back & shoulders waxed once every 5-7 weeks. It hurts like hell, but costs about $50. I haven’t looked into laser too much, although I am tempted to try a test area - maybe the back of my neck/hairline.
I’m a girl but totally agree w/waxing. It is painful and I don’t have to wax a big area like most men, but the end result is great. Hair grows in softer and sparse to where eventually you just have to spot wax. I saw a guy on Regis and Kelly get his back waxed the other day and he said it hurt but it was totally worth the outcome. He was VERY hairy!! Fortunately my hubby has soft hair to begin with so he just trims everywhere w/buzzers. Keeps him from getting that wild unkempt look. JMO

I could care less about masculinity being tied up in hairiness. I’m plenty more manly than a lot of hairy guys, and I shave my head, and sometimes my legs. I don’t have chest hair, or I would wax it. I guess if yu don’t know how to work on cars or don’t drink beer you’re not manly, either.

Yeah, you gotta watch football too.

I usually judge how “manly” someone is by their character, physical and mental toughness, and sometimes their body. Not by their fucking hairy chest. Seriously guys…

Just a quick question if you remove the hairs one by one or waxing them will make them grow slower as time passes? because that is what I heard,
anyway if it bothers you so much then do the darn leaser hair removal it’s a bit costly but it’s somewhat permament

You’re obviously not a hairy guy.

I’m moderately hairy. I trim area that would otherwise get bushy and gross. And otherwise let it be. I think waxing would be retarded and have no desire and see no point in making myself as smooth and hairless as a woman or a marble statue. I don’t have a problem with it. I just don’t see the point. Maybe if your back is like a fur coat. That’s sort of gross, and a lot of women don’t like that. But let the chest and legs alone in my opinion. No one cares. I can certain people might need or want to wax or shave certain areas but can’t see why anyone would go to great lengths to be as smooth and hairless as a enuch. Or Clay Aikin. Probably the same thing.

I’m not saying that someone who waxes can’t be manly. I think they can. But really, what are they trying to accomplish? Do they also get spray-on tans and pluck their eyebrows?

Hell yeah I pluck my eyebrows. You may not have heard, but the unibrow went out of style in the 70’s after Bert started sporting one on Sesame Street.

You can shave/wax/trim body hair if it’s what you want to do to control it. It’s not an issue of masculinity or manliness. It’s the fact that some of us are extremely hairy, we find it repulsive, and we already work hard to have a good physique, so why keep it covered in a fur sweater?

When our society stops placing any sort of emphasis on “looks” maybe then all of us hairy guys will be able to deal with the curse of the werewolf.
jsbrook wrote:

Exactly. Moderately hairy. You probably don’t have hair on your back or shoulders. Your chest and stomach probably don’t resemble a sweater, your arms and legs probably aren’t covered with a thick, dark layer of hair from your toes all the way up to the top of your head!!!

If all of us were moderately hairy, we probably wouldn’t care about shaving/waxing/trimming. We wouldn’t need to!

Right. You have no desire. That’s great. You don’t need to. So why even post on this thread and tell people that it’s retarded? You’re not hairy. So why does your opinion (from a moderately hairy guy) matter to those of us who are hairy?

For those of us with hairy backs and shoulders, waxing, shaving, Nair and laser hair removal are a part of our daily grooming ritual. We don’t like it. Women don’t like it. I don’t know anyone who says, “I like having a hairy back and shoulders.”

If you don’t have a problem with it, why are you saying that we shouldn’t do it?

I think chest and legs are more of an individual thing. As some of us have very hairy legs and chest. Others not so much.

I don’t care what other people think. I care what I think. And I think hair on my back and shoulders is disgusting! And I have an excess amount of hair on my legs, arms and chest/stomach. So yes, I’m going to trim (and/or shave certain areas). It looks better to me. I don’t care about anyone else!!!

And you’re not as hairy as me, so you can’t say what is or isn’t good/accepted/retarded/gay/etc.

I think very few men actually do that. If they do, they are athletes (swimmers, wrestlers, bodybuilders, etc.). Yes, they have a reason to be smooth like a baby’s butt. But I don’t think many men try to become hairless enuchs. So shaving/waxing certain areas isn’t really a big deal.

What about hairy asses?

I forgot to mention that one!!!

Trim it or shave it!!!

Ok. Cool.

I don’t think it really matters, you are worrying about nothing. If you’re in high school people might make a big deal about it, because people in high school are tools. But beyond that I don’t think anyone cares.
