Body By Gregron 2.0

Thanks for the support, prayers and well wishes. Friday was a rough one but it happens I guess.

hit the gym Friday morning and did arms… Got a good workout in.

Flew up to Seattle (where my fiancee is from) Friday evening and did lots of wedding stuff this weekend. She had a wedding shower on Saturday and I was the bartender… it was pretty fun.

Flew back late last night and I hit the gym 3 times today. (had to make up for all the drinks and crap food I had this weekend lol)

Got up early and did some FMC: 3.2 MPH @ 8 incline for 40 minutes

Chest this afternoon: Felt like I was weak today from the long weekend of bad food and lots of drinks…

Incline BB Bench:
warm up
235 x 6, 5, 5 (went up from 225 the last couple weeks. felt good)

BB Bench:
275 x 6, 6, 5 (felt strong. Hopefully I’ll get all the sets next week and I can move up)

DB Incline:
90’s x 8 (supposed to do 6 but this was eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeasy)
100’s x 6 (bumped it up and the hundi’s felt light too)
110’s x 5

Decline BB Bench: never done this before… not sure how I felt about it
185 x 8
275 x 5, 5
185 x max = 15

Pec Deck:
2 sets of 12 then drop for some and drop for some more. Chest was pumped like crazy.

Evening: went back with my fiance to get some with her
20 minutes Stairmaster

Circuit:
25 crunches on swiss ball
10 KB Swings with each arm
10 Weighted side to side oblique crunch things (while doing the Yoga “Boat Pose”)
100 Jumps with the speed rope
x5

Then quite a bit of stretching. I was sweating like crazy after that little workout. Now its back home to get some wedding stuff done. Tired but lots of work still to do. These next couple weeks are going to be busy busy.

a pic from the wedding shower… opening up some presents

nice

Good to see you still hitting it hard despite having a crazy amount of stuff to organize at the moment. I’d say trying to east somewhat cleanly and working out consistently whilst trying to organize a wedding must be an organisational nightmare!

You are one pretty sonofabitch man,

Solid training session, broheim. (all of them, lol)

Al Borland called, he wants his shirt back.

I will reach your bench strength someday good sir.

Keep up the great work whilst in busy times, it’s part of what seperates us T-Men from most ‘gym-goers’ fo’ sho’

T-Peepz. My bad

Look at the priceless wedding shower pic…noyce,

The declines takes some getting used to, however I feel the declines both BB and DB use your chest more than any other benching movement. I feel it takes your shoulders out of the equation as well as your tris to a certain extent…

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudgesicles and cream!! On my 3rd warm up set of squats I tweaked my back again in that same spot. WFT is wrong with me?!?! Bummed out gregron is bummed out

I’m following this popular log, but not just to be cool, but because you have a very good log. Oh and also I’m the 1,000,000 follower of the log which gives you tnation superpowers to overcome your tweaked back. This superpower will be shipped via Biotest ASAP.

ahhh, that SUCKS.
MAybe it’s time to see the Doc or a Chiro, etc.

Aww! Wedding pics!! squeeeee

Fudgcicles for real! Sucks!

Can you pinpoint what you did during the squat that tweaked your back? I find that when I hurt something during training its normally indicative of some OTHER issue that I need to resolve. Either that or I’m an asshat with shitty form.

Don’t be bummed Greggy! It’ll get better.

so much to catch up on!

Halloween looked like crazy fun.

Sorry to hear about you friend…

Hope that back heals up quick.

Sorry to hear about the back bud. know we’be talked about it, but I forget, do you foamroll and do mobility work? Rollover into v-sits and scorpions are staples of my pre-lift warmups. Definitely recommend 'em. Stay up brother.

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!!!

Here are some tits. Hope this helps.

Is it time for The special Hallowed injury pep talk or are we good?

Dinner from last night… NY Strip, salad (had seconds of this) and some delicious red wine.

sparty- thanks mi amigo

phlegms- I’m trying to hit it hard and keep the diet relatively clean for the most part… I’ve been busy busy thought for sure. Thanks for the kind words buddy.

Ink- hahaha LOLZ. Thanks for the PM’s brother

scj- You hating on my shirt man? Thats a bad ass new shirt… gotta love the snap buttons. Funny story: I was up in Tahoe a couple weeks ago with my lady doing wedding stuff. We had been out to a nice dinner and some drinks (quite a few drinks) and were back in the room. She’s brushing her teeth in the bathroom and I get the bright idea to do a strip show and get the party started. I go into the bathroom, grab my shirt and rip open the button snaps in a glorious show manliness… One problem, it was a regular button up shirt LOL. Buttons went flying everywhere. I cant remember the last time I laughed that hard. Ruined a perfectly good shirt.

Elmore- You can have some of my bench if I can have some of your DL? kthanx

Jake- I like that quote… well said!

Hallowed- Thanks for the pick me up boobies pic hahaha

Matty- The declines definitely need some work. I’m interested to see how they work out. I’ll keep them in for sure and see whats up. Its definitely a much shorter ROM.

G-Flow- whats up broham? Thanks for checking out my log, glad to have you along. Probably not the best time to be checking it out seeing as how I’ve get a few injuries lately and have been busy with the wedding but i’ll pick back up soon.

MiM- I’ve been thinking that. I just dont really have time to hit up the doctors office. If its still an issue next week I’m gonna go get some xrays and make sure it isnt something serious.

Maschy- I dont know exactly what I did yesterday that hurt it (well I know what set it was on and all that) It was the same spot on my low back that I tweaked during the PL meet on my last squat attempt. I tweaked it again two weeks ago while doing light leg press (5pps) and then yesterday while doing warm up sets of 225 on squats. I didnt do anything out of the ordinary and wasnt going for max reps at all. Both sets that I tweaked it on recently were sets of 10 (so they were light)

Frenchie- Thanks! Halloween is so much fun and I love dressing up.

WhiteFlash- I do some mobility stuff but havent done any V Sit ups in a while. Yesterday, pre squats, I did the warm up stuff from that article on here about not being hurt and immobile or something like that (the irony) I need to dedicate more time to that though now for sure.

Feeling tight today. Iced it up and then rubbed it down with some icy hot before class/errand running. Might try to hit the gym a little later for some light cardio to loosen things up. That seemed to help last time. Maybe i’ll hit up some pull ups or something like that? who knows.

Check out DeFranco’s lower warmup on YouTube. It has a catchy name but I forget it. Add some foamrolling and you’ll be back in no time.
