Thanks for the support everyone! Having a blast. Kinda tweaked my low back on my last squat but I’m powering through.

Decided to open woth 310lb bench… Easy 310 opener. Second attempt was a grinder at 335 for a new PR. Went for 340 cause the 335 was such a grinder and then got an easy 340 on my third attempt for a new PR.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Planned to open at 405 and said F that during warm ups. Opened with 445 and crushed it. Decided to gofor 475 for a 20lbPR and absolutely dominated it. Thought so myself “I had more in me on the squat and bench so F it”… Went for 500 and failed miserably (bet you thought I was gonna say nailed it huh? Lol)

All in all I PR’ed on every lift
SQUAT: 445 - a 40lb PR
BENCH: 340 - a 15lb PR
DEADLIFT: 475 - a 20lb PR
TOTAL: 1,260

Met my goal of a 1,200 plus total. Gonna be sore as shit tomorrow lol

Thank you so much. The support is overwhelming TBH and I really am feeling the love. I think the thought of letting all you guys down powered me through when my back was killing me after my third squat attempt. You all are the wind beneath my wings (LOL)

Meet Write Up:

First of all the meet was awesome. Everyone was so nice and supportive. I can really see why people get into this cause it was an amazing experience. I honestly had way more fun than I was expecting. Meet some really cool and nice people (sup rjcc!) would definitely love to do another meet some time in the future.

Apparently this was the first ever SPF meet in Southern California so thats kinda cool… You could also tell that this meet was the first one because there was quite a bit of downtime. Things ran pretty smoothly but there was a good amount of time that could have been cut out. The oldest lifter was 80 years old and the youngest was 8. Pretty awesome. There were 3 girls/women who deadlifted over 300lbs. There was one guy (multi ply) who opened with 980 on the squat (incredible to see) and there was also a lifter who benched 650 raw (bad ass!)

I think watching/encouraging the other lifters was as much fun as lifting myself. I found myself getting so pumped up for people when they would hit their lifts hahaha. Definitely a lot of comraderie within the PL community.

When I took off my shorts/shirt to start warm ups I instantly recruited a big fan base lol. Had quite a few people ask me where I got my singlet. It was great.

I set my openers when I first showed up and decided on 385 squat (way too low) 295 bench and a 425 DL.

SQUAT:
Warmed up and felt good. My opening lift was my first time ever using a monolift and I re set my feet after unracking the weight. What a rookie biotch. Hit the 385 easy and jumped up to 425 for a PR. Hit the 425 and moved up for a new PR of 445. It was an easy rep and I know now that I could have gotten more but I tweaked my low back and was feeling it big time for the rest of the meet. Thanks to RJCC for hooking me up with some icy spray stuff that was great.

BENCH:
During warm ups I realized that my opener was way too low. I was worried about the length of the pause but after seeing others I knew the head judge was giving the command quickly if you were controlling the weight. Ended up telling the score table to bump up my opener to 310. Nailed it. Jumped up to 335 for a PR attempt and it was a grinder. The bar I was benching on had wider “rings” than the ones I was used to so my grip was wider than normal. Barely got the 335 so I decided 340 was a good third attempt. I fixed my bar grip and hit the 340 easier than I had hit the 335 lol. New PR

DEADLIFT: Originally was set to open with 425 but SMOKED 405 in warm ups so again I told the score table to bump my opener up to 445. Easiest 445 pull i’ve ever done. chalk = awesome! haha. Knew I had been a bit conservative on the S/B reps so I decided to go for a big(ish) PR of 475. Pull felt smooth and pretty quick. I was very pumped on this. Decided to go all out and attempt 500 but got it up a few inches, felt my low back and just dropped it there. Not even bummed about that at this point. Very happy with my lifts.

Ended up with a 1,260 total which was more than I hoped for (1,200) Everything was awesome. Sorry for the EXTREME wall of text lol.

Hope you guys enjoy the vid (especially the vocal guest appearance of the Hulkster). Time for a few Epsom Salt baths, a couple beers and an entire large pizza hahaha. Im going to be sore as balls tomorrow.
