I wouldn’t deadlift the week of the meet and I’d only lift until Wednesday but overall I like inkaddict’s plan.

In regards to progress pictures I think that’s the best you’ve ever looked since I started following your log. You look leaner, bigger and more proportionate. I know part of that is gym pump but still…and your triceps/arms in general look standout.

just got back from the gym, gotta shower and get out the door to meet some friends who just got into town so I’ll be back with a full write up, responses and a vid from tonights workout.

HIGHLIGHT:
worked up to my single of 420. Didnt do max reps… then bumped it up to try some heavier weight. Pulled 455 x 1 for a new PR. Probably coulda got 465 and maybe 475. Pretty pumped for that considering I was having an off day and i was really tight/sore from the stupid football game on saturday.

I read through some of your session (its hard when there are so many comments, lol) and our numbers are very similar across the board. I competed in my first meet this past summer with 165StateChamp. Before the meet my best deadlift PR was 465, in the meet 501 flew up and I probably could have hit at least 510.

Don’t be afraid to get aggressive with your deadlift attempts. Being in front of people makes a difference as well as having 5-10 minutes to mentally prepare yourself for one lift. Just tell yourself it is the most important thing in the world and everyone will think it is hilarious if you miss it, worked for me at least.

This. And if you’re pulling with a real deadlift bar, it’s going to have more spring in it than a regular gym bar, and you’ll be able to snap it off the floor faster. I predict a 500 pull at your meet Greg, totally serious.

So sorry for not being around… I’ll respond to everyone tomorrow. Things have been crazy this week. Was feeling pretty sore/run down today but realized I had to hit the gym today cause I couldn’t go Friday. Really wanted/needed a day off today but went ahead anyway. Next weeks de load is gonna do me a lot of good.

Did bench today and worked up to a not too difficult paused 325. Happy with that all things considered…
