Rock- what if i do “powerbuilding”??? thats the new hotness

WhiteFlash- hahaha I should. Im hoping that they let me play my own music while i lift, or at least some intro music… if so here’s my jam

@ :45 is siiiiiiick! and @ 2:30… oh shit! Night jumps… brings back memories lol

Greg, I’ve made a discovery regarding your weightclasses for the meet:

“Lightweight (less than 198), Middleweight (198 to 242), Heavyweight (243 and above)”

That means that the Lightweight class is all classes up to, and including the 181 class. Middleweight is the 198 class (which is from 182-198 pounders) through the 242 class, and the Heavy’s are above 243#s. So to lift in the lightweight div, you’d need to drop down to 181. BUT…don’t sweat competing against bigger guys, it’s your first meet, and you should be trying to get AS STRONG AS POSSIBLE in the run leading up to it. If you still want to lift in the 198’s for the sake of being a 198, go for it, but don’t do it just to think you’ll be at the top of the weight class division. Make sense?

And that’s awesome news about your homie coming home. Afghanistan IS a shithole (from what I’ve seen/heard, I never “got” to go there), and I’m happy to hear about some of us coming home. When you get shitfaced upon his arrival…take vids!

and dude…that song…TOTALLY goes with your singlet and 'stache!!

No it isn’t

Powerbuilding isn’t cool

Choose one or the other.

Yes, I know, tad hypocritical seeing my current training, but this is temporary.

what are you doing getting assaulted by Kobe Bryant?

Phlegms- thanks brother. I hope I can get stronger over the next 6 weeks. I’m actually HOPING to lose some weight and get into the lightweight division which is under 198 but I’m not even close to that. I was 215 this morning after a weekend of lots of drinking (my buddies wedding) so we’ll see if I can get close (205ish) and then use some water manipulation to drop under 198

You should look into IF leangains style if you are looking to shed a bit of weight whilst maintaining strength. I really enjoyed it when I tried it out (I would be doing it right now if it wasn’t for my crappy schedule).

Ink- Thats what that means? Really? So either I get down to 181 (which i could never do or would ever want to do lol) or I’m going to be a middleweight? Well I guess that settles things. Guess who’s having a burger and a beer tonight? lol hahahaha I’m sure when he gets in tomorrow we’ll be “celebrating”… probably just a BBQ at the pad or something.

Rock- I watched the movie Let Me In today and I thought of you… except the vampire was a 12 year old girl lol… Still a good movie though

DF- What is this some kind of Highlander of weightlifting? “There can only be one!” haha

Jams98- That was me! Kobe grabbed my phone and i hurt my finger so i’m going to sue… What a dipshit that guy is? i know he’s a superstar celebrity but you would think you would have a little common courtesy in a friggin church not to be snapping pics of the dude and his family. At least wait till service is over. I’m sure he wouldnt mind then. Thats just classless if you ask me.

phlegms- I have looked into the leangains thing a little bit. It is definitely intriguing as well. we’ll just have to see I guess? Not much need for a “diet” now since I dont have to cut weight for the meet.

531 Deadlifts today… hard day TBH.

warm up
stretches
500 jump rope medley

Deadlifts:
260 x 5
300 x 5
340 x 9 (coulda got a couple 10 or 11 but I didnt want to push it toooooo much cause my back was already feeling it)

GHR:
2 x 10 on the machine but it was weird. The pad was moved up so my knee was hitting on the edge of the metal and it hurt
3 x10 on the ground with my feet under a bench. These were WAY harder and I had to do a little bit of a pushup at the bottom of the reps lol weak sauce

Lunges:
5 x 10 w/50lb DB’s these were really hard! the first set was easy but after the 3rd set I was dying. Im finding that I need lower weights for 5 x 10 than my usual few top sets of 6-8

Preacher Curls:
1 x 10 w/ 25lb on each side
3 x 10 w/ 35lb on each side
1 x 10 w/ 25lb on each sides

suppersetted with 5x10 hanging leg raises.

this was a tough workout today. Back was feeling tired before I even started today for some reason… Gonna hit the grocery store now to get some grillin stuff for tonight.

Dinner is served.

Cowboy Burgers in Lettuce wraps w/ a side of homemade sweet potato chips

1lb ground beef seasoned with garlic salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce and cilantro. chunks of cheddar cheese mixed in
Topped With:
grilled onions
roasted red peppers
avocados

inside a lettuce wrap bun (didnt have any buns/bread)

Sweet Potato Fries:

1 large sweet potato tossed with cumin, salt and olive oil… throw those bad boys in the oven.

AMZING!!!

greg, forget about that woman you’re seeing. come out here and marry me (as long as you’re cooking).

How long till the meet? I have a pretty solid deadlift plan, depending on how far out you are

I’m here for the mustache rides.

Its more about about picking one path and grinding it out. Spreading yourself too thin isnt good.

hybrid sucks

this reminds me of you

Harry- LOL… What can I say? I love to cook (and eat… thats the problem)

DF- The meet is October 2nd… so 6 and a half weeks from today? Is that enough time?

scj- its a goatee right now… but in another week or so the stache will be back to full strength and then I will reveal it in all its glory. stay tuned

rock- I just laughed so much at that video. I nearly spit chocolate shake all over my laptop. AMAZING! I’m going to spam all my friends on facebook with it now. gracias mi amigo

Ok so today is an “off day” which in other words means “lame.” I’m going to the gym this afternoon with my girl when she gets home. I’m going to train her so maybe I’ll get in a little bit of ab work or some cardio with her.

I’ve been reading up a lot on the mountain dog diet and am very impressed. I picked up some Virgin Coconut Oil and made my first MDD style shake.

water, 2 scoops whey, 1 organic banana, 1/2 cup oats and 1tbsp VCO. This tasted delicious! I basically swapped out the peanut butter for the coconut oil and it tasted awesome. I only went with 1/2 a cup of oats cause I threw a banana in there. I’m going to keep reading more and talking with people before I get this diet all nailed down. I’ll probably start friday or monday.

Thanks for checkin in on me ladies and gentleman. Appreciate it

May have missed this, but are you doing a push/pull/press meet?

And this one is in OK right?

It has arrived!!! USA! USA! USA! USA!

After the meet you should do it though.

Hey Greg, stopping by to say that watching you kill it in the gym all the time, and seeing the advise you write in your log is pretty helpful for young guys like me. Hope you do awesome in your PL comp, and keep up the good work! Ohh, btw, I use to check out the old vert thread, did you ever reach your goal of dunking? or did that get put on hold for engagement/PL’ing/gettin’ sexii for summer ??? lol
