BMI is Bulls**t

BMI isn’t for the athletic population.

It’s for Joe Average and it’s a fairly decent measuring stick for folks who don’t carry around abnormal amounts of muscle.

or in your case, protien and some serious gym time

BMI is the the best way to measure what weight you should be at, regardless of how much muscle or fat you carry. If you are over your BMI than you are carrying to much muscle or fat…this means you should lose weight.

What is your excess muscle doing for you anyway?? ANY muscle beyond your BMI is completely useless for anything!

Why dont they just throw, neck, wrist, and waist size into the mix…I mean they’d get a more accurate measure without that much more work.

Dude, your an idiot. Ask a serious powerlifter or olympic lifter if there “excess muscle” is completely useless.

BMI does not work for strength/power athletes. Even the the world record sprinter is borderline overweight.

HAHA! I guess I should have put ‘/sarcasm’ at the end of that, because you did not pick up on it.

With all the idiots, I understand why you did not.

Yeah everyone knows BMI is bollocks. I’m clinically overweight at 235lbs. 6"5…

BMI ain’t that bad for what it is designed for - to gauge whether or not an “average person” is overweight. People who lift weights are outliers, and it’s not accurate for us.

Apologies, again the limits of the typed word as opposed to verbal communications.

The BMI is for 19th century Belgians.

The good think though is that in larger studies even the dumbest interviewer can usually get height and weight right.
