Blood, Sweat, Iron, and Men in Singlets

Sorry you feeling shitty. You would feel better if you stopped eating like a bird and starting eating properly. You could continue wrestling but based on the pictures you posted you are wayyyyyy too light at your current weight class. You won’t be competitive until you thicken out to 170 ish I would bet. Just my 0.02 but frankly lifting is better than wrestling  hahaha I wrestled in my young days a bit actually. Lifting is way more fun IMO because it’s so straightforward to evaluate progress. And who doesn’t like frightening people at the gym with your 28 inch thighs?[/quote]

Lmfao my problem is there are days where I eat how I want and I instantly balloon out to like 152. Trust me, when I eat, I eat. This offseason I might not wrestle again and I know for sure I’m entering a PL meet this summer. Even if I do wrestle again I’m gonna come in at around 220 and say fuck it, weight classes are for pussies. I’ve been trying to open my dad to the idea of quitting in pursuit of powerlifting and hes starting to take to it. So we’ll see, I could be taking a whole new twist on this log if I get out of this season.

NEEDED this refeed. Will pay for it by weighing in heavy the next few days until saturday but I’ll try to make up for it as best as possible with some fasted cardio tomorrow morning and maybe tomorrow night as well.

Took a nice knee to the head, minor concussion. Probably no tourny saturday and can’t lift tomorrow either.

12/16/11

Went home from school with pink eye and the concussion. Shits not looking up, no tournament tomorrow for me. Nutrition = shit. Just getting in enough protein and not worrying about the rest. Planning on fitting in squats and bench either tomorrow or sunday if my head feels alright.

Just keep on keeping on

Thats the plan currently. Just get back in the room and get back on lifting schedule. Might take a week or two for everything to normalize lifting wise but I should be back wrestling by monday.

Still not allowed to lift due to concussion but cleared to do some LISS today, will be doing this soon. Just gotta foam roll everythang first then on to an hour of LISS. Hopefully lifting again tomorrow.

Major concussion symptoms during practice. Off for at least a week and maybe the season. Back lifting in God knows when. Hopefully 2-3 weeks there. Might fully punt wrestling and just recover then lift. Fingers crossed for that lol, and for a swift recovery.

I’m not sure if you’re on the fence or really don’t want to wrestle anymore. Have you made a decision yet?

Its both really. I don’t want to wrestle, but I know my team could benefit from me being there. Plus the concussion isn’t helping because I really don’t want to risk getting another on top of this and being in a REALLY bad situation. This one itself isn’t that bad, a weeks rest and I’d probably be fine. But if I come back in and get another, its probably gonna be really bad.

I’m scheduled to take an impact test tomorrow to compare with my baseline so we’re really basing where I go from here off that test.

12/20/11

The prognosis: Off from everything until the 30th. At that point will be re-evaluated by a doctor and probably released.

HOWEVER because this is my 3rd concussion I’m not allowed to participate in contact sports based on New jersey state laws… Still part of my team, will be going to all the matches because its like my family. I don’t care if I can’t compete, I want to be there for them.

So training once I get back on the 30th will start up with a westside accumulation period for 5 weeks then 3 weeks intensification and a deload which I’ve run by STB. I’ll then repeat that cycle and train for a meet.

Glad to see your still committed to the team. I’ll be expecting some PRs soon.

Course, I mean anyone who’s wrestled or hell even played any sport seriously for any length of time, knows that your team is your family.

Lol, I’m now on the quest for 300lbs bodyweight. Once I get back on the 30th I’ll post up some goals for the accumulation phase, starting with a 225 low box squat 3RM and a 125 floor press 3RM.

12/21/11

Feeling better today, still tired but better than yesterday.

12/22/11

OUT FOR BREAK! Which means no school until the 3rd again so once the 30th comes around will be posting training that monday.

12/23/11

Just did some LISS for 25 minutes super slow, burned 215 cals. Was cleared to do this so felt good to be able to do something.
