I went to see the Doctor yesterday. My blood pressure was 141/88 which shocked the fuck outta me. Im a powerlifter so i just eat shit all the time. Mcdonalds probably 3 times a week oreos chips pizza you name it. Im gonna get this down to atleast 125/80 by eating healthier and losing weight and getting more cardio in.
Another thing.
Im having a slight ED problem and this didnt start occuring till i went from 205 to 225lbs i think with the extra weight gain my blood pressure shot up and high BP is known to cause ed problems soo… any input im 24 btw 5"8

First, BP’s are not like track scores. You don’t necessarily get to control exactly what it is.
Second, 144/88 isn’t high blood pressure. I see that all day and it is called “white coat syndrome”.

You know what to do.
As an aside, if you have large arms the blood pressure cuff might not fit properly and read high. You might also have white coat syndrome.
My blood pressure read 166/88 and my doc wanted me on meds immediately. Instead I bought a home monitor and took my bp every day for 2 weeks. It average 131/66.
It probably wouldn’t hurt to cut out the junk and replace it with better sources of calories. I understand how important it is to eat like a shark the day after a heavy session but it doesn’t have to be a case of ho-hos.
Dr. Pangloss makes an excellent point–a normal-sized cuff on an extra-large arm will result in a falsely-elevated BP reading. So it’s entirely possible your HTN could be ‘cured’ by re-checking it with a large cuff. But even if this is the case, you would do well to maintain your newfound commitment to a healthier diet/lifestyle.
As for your ED, I doubt very much that it is BP-related (ED secondary to essential HTN usually takes many years to develop). Nevertheless, you should mention it to your physician at your follow-up appt, assuming it is still a problem at that time.
Finally, if you are juicing, you need to know that doing so can affect both BP and sexual function.
I saw an episode of The Biggest Loser and a 40 year-old guy that was 6 feet tall and 340lbs got his blood work back and apparently other than of course needing to lose weight the guy came back pretty muck OK.
So me, being 40, 6 feet tall but about 255 decided I could pretty much give myself a clean bill of health.
If you listen to X do not read this.
ED tells you that even if it was a wrong reading you have problems.
Till 85 your blood pressure should be close to 115 and ED should be a subject you can laugh about because you never experienced it.
Yes eat real foods like vegies, not pretend foods(processed) who are manufactured for profits no to feed living beings.
I am 56 and about 30 years younger than you are presently. You can choose to reverse that.
It is up to you.

No

Wow…its a good thing none of those other issues like genetics, body mass, body comp, conditioning, anxiety level and age factor into that.
This is why there is a difference between thinking you know everything because of what you read somewhere…and actually understanding the complexity of the human body.
Yes, he should get his ED checked. He should also base his understanding of his blood pressure on SEVERAL READINGS and not just one.
I got myself all worked up over high blood pressure because of the damned Walmart machine. The thing reads at least 15+ points higher than if I check myself. I did find that an appropriate cuff gave me normal readings though.

They use a leg cuff on me.[/quote]
Third leg or arm?

I also got worried for no reason, mine came in at 190/55 until they used a ‘fat-person cuff’ and it came back high-normal but re-assuringly within range.
